School Announcements, April 18

Ten minutes before first period? People are going to start wishing Zordon wasn't so prompt with the announcements, at this rate. It's all just an evil plan to disrupt Peter Parker's sleep. Mwahahahaha.

"Good morning. Today is Paul Revere Day, or so the interestingly-dressed skeleton in my office has been attempting to inform me. William Dawes and Samuel Prescott, however, continue to not get their fair share of credit for the midnight ride. In addition, the phrase used to alert people on the route was not 'The British are coming,' but 'The regulars are out.'"

There's a brief pause, and in fact the phrase "The regulars are out" can be heard from a chorus of several odd-sounding voices in the background. With . . . springy noises?

Zordon continues dryly, "As the platypuses on pogo sticks who are wandering the halls today apparently wish to inform you. That will be all, and have a midnight-ride-free day."

Then, just before the PA shuts off . . . "Thank you. Now will some of you go down to the office, take those pogo sticks, and hit the drone who keeps yelling 'The British are coming?'"

[ooc: You know, those platypi have poison claws on the webbed feet. . . . They are, in fact, some of the most dangerous creatures on the planet, along with everything else from Australia. . . .

My information may, in fact, be entirely incorrect! doesn't stop me from sharing it!]

[ooc: well, I knew they were poisonous at least! And don't they have that crazy bacteria thing going on that dogs, cats, and komodo dragons do?]

[[ooc: They were already my favorite animal... when I discovered the thing about the poison spines on their hind legs a few years ago, it only cemented their place. I informed a Kiwi friend of this and he said "Of course they're poisonous! They're from Australia!!! EVERYTHING THERE IS POISONOUS!"

In other news (http://www.jsayers.com/paintings/i'm%20not%20poisonous.jpg).

[OOC: I think that was the entire thesis of Bill Bryson's book about Australia. It is, and I say it with love, a very freaky place.]

Peter really wished somebody had given him earplugs for his birthday. Dammit.
