PE and Health Class - Friday - First Period
Dwight had a good feeling as everyone got together for the class that morning. The kids had been making some good progress over the last few weeks. And yeah, this session might be a little more intense for some of the kids, and might take a little more finess than normal. But he still had a good feeling as he stood there with his teaching buddy.
Considering the warning that was dropped last week, no one should be surprised to come into the danger shop that morning and find it set up as a nice, large indoor pool. With a random NPC lifeguard programmed in, too, because why not? Gladio was far too easily amused.
"Alright, everyone!" he started with his booming voice echoing particularly well in the acoustics of the pool area. "We're swimming today! We're all starting over here in the shallow end, and if that's as far as you get, that's fine. So long as you get in. From there, though, we're going to go through a few basic swimming techniques, and you'll have to pass a skills check if you want access to the deep end."
"Right, because while we want you kids to get something out of this class, we don't want to make it any harder on anyone than it has to be," Dwight said giving a slight smile and reassuring nod to Jo.
Gladio, meanwhile, was definitely waiting until everyone else got in the pool so he couldpush in heckle any of the stragglers, and almost wishing they were starting in the deep end because this would be one hell of a good time for a massive cannonball.
And you know what? Dwight was also wishing for the chance to do a good cannonball rights now too....But at least one of them had to have some restraint right now
"Hopefully you all came ready to go, so let's get into the pool and get started!" Dwight said as he hopped into the pool himself and waited for the others to follow.

Swim Instruction
Re: Swim Instruction
She was also very self conscious in her swimsuit, which wasn’t helping matters either.
Re: Swim Instruction
"Glad you made it today" he said with a reassuring smile. Because, if Dwight was going to be honest, he had half expected Jo to possibly be a no-show today. Not that he would ever vocalize that and give any student of his any such ideas or inclination that such a thing would be ok. But still... he was genuinely glad Jo had made it.
"And for making the effort," he said sincerely knowing how hard just being at the pool likely was for her.
Re: Swim Instruction
If Jo hadn’t changed her ways from her last school, she would have absolutely tried to not turn up for class but she was trying to improve and if that meant she had to face the pool at least once …well…
Re: Swim Instruction
Hearing a recap of water and swim safety was still something that wouldn’t hurt to listen to again though.
Shallow End
"Ok so we are going to begin with the basics and work our way up," Dwight said with an encouraging nod. "Do however much you want. You are free to stop any time and neither Gladio or I are going to force anyone to do something they don't feel comfortable doing. You have made it in the pool and so that is a success. But if you want access to the deep end then you must make it through these basics."
Re: Shallow End
She had enough trouble being in the shallow end of the pool thanks to all those times she’d get pushed in unawares by the other girls at school.

Deep End
You will not be safe from teacher-induced cannonballs.
Because you know, your instructors could only pull off the responsible adult façade for so long.

Re: Talk to Your Teachers!
Because there were few opportunities that came built-in with an excuse for not wearing a shirt.
Not that he necessarily needed one, per se....
