PE and Health Class - Friday - First Period 1/14
While some of the students might not find themselves exactly thrilled to find themselves on a simulated track-and-field course for this week's class, they should all take comfort in the fact that Gladio wasn't their only teacher for this course, because if he was, there was a good chance they'd be doing today's lesson outside. As it was, though, it had been generally advised that maybe running around outdoors in winter sort of flew in the face of the "health" portion of the class, and Gladio really couldn't complain too much, because there'd still be running.
"Alright, everyone," he started, "we're gonna take some time to stretch out before we get started today, because, believe me, you're going to want to be warmed up for this one! Today's all about running!"
"And since we have a small class this time around," Dwight said as he jumped in. "We are going to set things up a little different than most PE health classes would. There will be two different courses set up for you to tackle today. First is Sprints and then we have a One Mile Run.
"We're not going to worry about performance here" Gladio added, lifting a hand as if to placate any protests--he was, after all, used to protests whenever the word run was involved.. "This is more about just the act of running, getting comfortable with it, knowing how to pace yourself, and how your body responds. No one's getting medals or ribbons for finishing first here…but you might get a chance to pat yourself on the back."
Yes, both instructors have a feeling some of their students might be horrified, absolutely horrified at this, while others would be fairly relieved to hear this. That was just the range you got with a class as….ecclectic as this one.
"So, let's get started then shall we?" Dwight said as they kicked off the class lecture for the day.

Listen to the Lecture
And following was a basic rundown (pun totally intended) about sprint running and a similar run down of long distance running.
Gladio also offered some additional instruction and insight on the basics of technique and basic health benefits.
Ask Your Questions
(Sorry I have no shame)
Sprinting Laps
He broke out into a grin. "Even if those thoughts involve never wanting to run again."
Re: Sprinting Laps
Re: Sprinting Laps
They weren't cute. But they had to still be better than a long skirt.
Although props to her for still trying in that, anyway, he supposed?

Re: Sprinting Laps
But...he did have a kid sister about Jo's age, so he could definitely sympathize a little with the plight of being the only girl in this class and the awkwardness that it might cause.
"What if," he proposed, "I were to find for you a nice tracksuit, or something? Think that would be a good compromise?"
He might even be able to get her a nice, comfortable Crownsguard issue one. Hell, he probably spent at least half his own teenage years in one of those.
Re: Sprinting Laps
She at least hadn’t refused the offer though.
Re: Sprinting Laps
"Just give it a try," he suggested. "Trust me. It's gonna change your life."
And it would give him less anxiety about just when she inevitably wound up tripping over those skirts of hers and faceplanted right into the ground at the most inopportune moment.

Re: Sprinting Laps
He had no idea that he was going to be doing this a lot today.
Don't mind Guillermo or maybe do since he was definitely dragging his heels on getting back up again.
Re: Sprinting Laps
As he was approaching the end of the first lap when he heard a commotion behind him. Turning around and glancing over his shoulder he came to a stop when he saw Guillermo flat on the ground. Without a moment's hesitation, Kurt ported over to his friend.
"Are you ok, Guillermo?" he asked as he crouched down and helped his fiend get to his feet again.
Re: Sprinting Laps
Re: Sprinting Laps
"How about we do a sprint back together once we walk back down to the end here?" Kurt offered with a slight smile. "No competing, no seeing whose the fastest, just a nice easy run back up to the teachers?"
Re: Sprinting Laps
He had no idea what was in store for drama.
Mile Run Lap
Dwight gave an encouraging nod to the class. "Remember it's more about the experience than whether you come in first place or last. Just give it your best! And feel free to share your thoughts with the class when you are done, of course."
Re: Mile Run Lap
She was clearly not meant for running.
Re: Mile Run Lap
"Ow," he moaned as he doubled over, panting and groaning when he was finished. He was not a fun of running at all.
Re: Mile Run Lap
"You did good!" he said encouragingly as he handed Guillermo his water.
