Rory stumbled in just before first period and opened the library.

And now she's trying to function, and she's mainlining coffee like it's her life's blood.

And it's Rory, so that's not untrue.

She's making notes for her journalism project, chewing on her pen occasionally.

And now doing that work thing - sorting books for reshelving.

Library is closed because the ladies have to eat.

Zero came in and started a war of wills with the cabinet where the library aides' contracts were kept.

Angela blinked at Zero. "Are you having a staring contest with the filing cabinet? Who's winning?"

"Library won't let me open it." Zero attempted to reach for the filing cabinet's handle, but her hand stopped after about an inch. "This is very annoying."

"That's...weird. Is it mad at you?" Rory asked.

"Weird," Angela said. She raised a hand to the cabinet, then hesitated. "Can I try?"

"My contract's in there. It probably thinks I'm going to try to set it on fire again."

"Be my guest." Zero glared at the cabinet.

Angela cautiously raised a hand to the cabinet and opened the drawer without incident. "Works for me," she said, pleasantly surprised. "What am I looking for?"

"My contract. I want to see when it expires."

There is a file for each aide. Zero's is ever-so-slightly thicker, and feels a little odd as Angela's hand brushes against it.

She pulled out the contract and held it out to Zero. "You leaving us? I know Parker wants to." She sounded slightly woeful.

Zero leaned forward to read the contract. "HAHA YES." She spun around with glee. "I love you guys and all, but no more mind control for me!"

"So it's out of your head in a couple weeks?" Angela grinned. "That's great for you. Though the place really won't be the same without the mallet of doom."

"Maybe we can get my replacement a mallet. That is, if Mr. Wagner decides to get a replacement. We should talk to him about that."

Angela nodded. "Six people seems like a lot of staff, though I'm glad you guys took on Rory and I."

She twirled a piece of hair between her fingers. "I seriously haven't made up my mind yet. I think I want to see what's going on next semester, you know?"
