"I trust you all have essays for me about the ethics of being emotionally blackmailed into visiting acquaintances and relatives you don't like simply because it's the holiday season. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this. If you did not write the essay that was assigned, you will need to eat some of this candy and then explain your thoughts on the topic."

Why do you have to hang out with Tinhat Uncle John just because it's the holidays? He's creepy and smells weird.

Jo had tried to write an essay and well essay writing had not been her strong suit at her old school because …she had never written them when they’d been assigned.

Her essay had no structure at all and she kept repeating herself over and she hadn’t really answered the question in the end.

“Well …um…I mean they are still family?” she tried, who was also not the best person to ask about opinions on having to visit families.
