"We didn't really talk about, like, serious stuff?" Angela said. "But he sounded good, and looked really good. And there weren't any large men with guns around today that I noticed. Which is also good."

Parker snickered. "I'd think those would've made the radio, at the very least." She smiled. "As much as I pick on Marty, the one thing about him I have never doubted is how much he cares about you. It's good that that's still holding true."

"Leave it to Marty to manage to get attacked by invisible large men with guns. Or else ninjas," Angela said, though from her flippant tone, it was clear she didn't actually think anything of the kind had happened. "But, yeah, he's special. And I say this as the girl who broke up with him. Twice."

"And got back together with him. What does that say about you?"

Parker shook her head. "And happy late birthday. I'm going to have to get you a raincheck on a prezzie, I've been a little distracted. I hope you have fun at the spa with Isabel, though."

"Glutton for punishment?" Angela suggested. "Or, just, really into him. Or both." Her eyes were guarded. "And no worries on the present. We were going to do a little party for me, Peter and Isabel on Monday, 'cause their birthdays are this weekend. I'll accept tribute then." She tilted her head to one side. "Isn't Anakin's birthday this month, too?"

"I think so? And I know Archie's is, and I think Aeryn said something about that... I really should check in with her anyway, I keep meaning to ask how John is doing." Parker smiled. "Monday for tribute, then. And possibly streamers."

"Definitely streamers. Also, there should be cake," Angela decreed. "But weird, seems like half the school is Aries."

A more serious look crossed her face. "What is going on with Crichton, anyhow? Do you think he and Cam Mitchell went and played in a gremlin nest together?"

"I am not going to... great, thanks, Angela." Parker head-desked. "I just had a thought about what all your parents were doing nine months earlier in July."

"I don't know, but John-boy's sounds like it's more serious. Cam was-- not himself, but seems pretty together, aside from risking a knee-capping from Zero. John's radio broadcast from this weekend? Nicholson would've been happy to take notes for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." She shook her head. "Isabel said she was helping out, so hopefully they have it under control now."

Angela looked traumatized. "I seriously would never think about that aspect. Thanks so much, Maureen."

She rubbed her forehead, trying to force the picture out. Nope. Mental. Image. Sticking. Ack.

She blinked a few times and tried to focus on Parker's next sentence. "Cam is pretty strange," she said. "He was asking how many religions there were in Virginia, and he didn't seem to get what I meant when I mentioned Tennessee. Which is where he's from, right? So if John is worse..." Angela shuddered. "At least there are people at school who can help.

"Hate you too, Chase. You started it." Parker pounded her head a few more times.

"I think the radio said Molly and Aeryn are onto whatever Cam's deal is, which is good. And yes, he's from Memphis. I seriously think he's either not Cam, or he's got amnesia or something. Bridge was checking out his aura in ACJ, so hopefully they'll have some answers soon." Parker shook her head. "'Come to Fandom, get an education, meet new people, get your head excavated.' Not the kind of thing they put on the brochures."

"I'm not the one who started thinking about old people having sex, I was just talking about birthdays!" Angela protested. But she was starting to giggle.

And trying not to think about Anakin apparently not having a father, and Aeryn being an alien, and .... no. She is not thinking about any of that.

She sighed. "Bridge is awesome. I hope he can see what's going on. And I think you're right -- either it's amnesia, or he's possessed, like with the fairies at the play."

Parker's chuckling under her breath now too. Thank God she was born in January.

Oh, right. That kind of kills the funny, thinking about April in Maine.

"I just hope it's fixable fast. Cam's racking up embarassment points, the longer this goes on."

"Me too," Angela said vehemently. "Can't be good for him, either."
