"A conversation with a friend yesterday--" sure, let's call the Mandalorian a friend, "--reminded me that we are all coming from a variety of locations and time periods and for all that we are given a person to help when we first arrive, we acclimate to changes very much on our own, using the set of ethics we arrived with. Holidays, seasonal activities, religion or lack thereof here on the island, or even here on the planet, can all feel strange and disquieting."

He leaned back against his desk. "What was the thing that struck you first as being immediately wrong here, compared to where you came from? Do you still feel that way?"

"How little clothing everyone wears," Nell said. As if her long skirts and tunic tops weren't clue enough.

Anakin chuckled. "I completely understand," he said, gesturing to his Jedi robes. "I've been in this same outfit most of my life."

"It does take some gettin' used to, doesn't it?" Nell said. "I'm not one to judge, but it was a bit of a shock to the system."

"I grew up in the desert," Anakin said. "If you had skin out, you'd fry like a hot dog."

"That makes sense," Nell agreed with a nod. "Back home in my old church you'un wouldn't have wanted to try and show any more skin if you'un wanted to keep it intact. It just wasn't done for people to go around all uncovered like that. Might promote lustful thoughts and such."

"Pretty sure if a wrist promotes lustful thoughts, it's not the wrist," Anakin said.

Nell couldn't stop the short burst of laughter at that comment. "Pretty sure, you're right, and most of the elders were just a bunch of dirty old men," she agreed.

"Fandom being co-educational," Jo admitted, "my last school was all girls and we only had one male teacher so I found that to take some getting used to,"

"What did the male teacher teach?" Anakin asked.

"Mr Sutton taught carpentry," Jo replied, "we took it in first and second year but some of the older students sometimes sat in on the classes as well,"

"Interesting," Anakin said. "Did you like it?"

"It was challenging," Jo admitted, even though that was more because she hadn't taken her studies seriously, "but it was probably the class I liked the most," it had certainly been more preferable to classes taught by Miss Parker.

"What part did you like the most?" Anakin asked.

"I think I liked that it wasn't as strict as my other classes," Jo considered, "Mr. Sutton didn't have as many rules so I suppose it didn't really feel like a class,"

"Do you feel less constricted here as well?" Anakin asked.

Jo nodded, "it was a bit of an adjustment not having classes every day but I definitely prefer it here to my old school," she said.

"To be honest, the weirdest thing about this place is how much it's like back home," Terra admitted. "I mean, it's a whole different world, I expected it to be, well, different."
