The Tick was sitting behind his desk with a smile on his face. Even Lockheed seemed slightly interested in what was going on today. "Hello, students! Sorry I wasn't here on Tuesday. I was fighting that most fearsome of all foes, the Uncommon Cold! Thank you, Rory, for covering for me at the last minute."

"Today, we have a special guest lecturer who is here to tell us about another view of Justice that we've had some exposure to. Please welcome Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi!"

"A Jedi's primary weapon is his lightsaber. Unfortuanately, I can't show you mine today, as it's in the school's weapons lock-up, but it's an energy sword. It's not so clumsy or random as a blaster; it's a civilized weapon that calls for a great deal of skill, so Jedi train from a very young age to use it."

He stops for a moment to answer Bridge (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/807242.html?thread=37777738#t37777738), then continues.

"There are a variety of forms of lightsaber fighting - some more aggressive, some more defensive, some more acrobatic, and others very simple in style. Jedi are not just found among the humoid species in our galaxy, so different beings use different forms according to their body's strengths and weaknesses."

"My master primarily used the Ataru form - a little more agressive and very acrobatic in nature. I trained in that style with him, but it requires a great deal of room to manuever in. So for myself, I generally prefer Form III, Soresu. It's more defensive and requires a good deal of patience to perform well, but it's highly effective against blaster fire -- that is, uh, energy guns." He gives a wry grin. "Something I seem to come up against all too frequently on our little adventures."

His expression sobers somewhat. "More and more, these days. More than I'd like. There's currently some very messy politics going on at home, and it seems it's only getting uglier."
