Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 26, Period 1, 04.13.06
[OOC: And once again, I interact little. But there's a good reason for it this time! I'm here, Obi-Wan's here, we're all here, let's party. Class Info Post.]
The Tick was sitting behind his desk with a smile on his face. Even Lockheed seemed slightly interested in what was going on today. "Hello, students! Sorry I wasn't here on Tuesday. I was fighting that most fearsome of all foes, the Uncommon Cold! Thank you, Rory, for covering for me at the last minute."
"Today, we have a special guest lecturer who is here to tell us about another view of Justice that we've had some exposure to. Please welcome Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi!"

Guest Lecture [Class 26]
Re: Guest Lecture [Class 26]
Obi-Wan in teaching mode had a slightly schoolmasterish air, but it's offset by the warm smile he has for Anakin's friends.
"For more than a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the guardians of peace and justice in the Galactic Republic.
Before the dark times. Before the Empire.""Now obviously when we're talking about an entire galaxy, each system and its planets handle local criminal affairs and government according to their own culture. The Jedi are not security forces; we operate as negotiators in interplanetary diplomacy and advisors the Galactic Senate. We're mediators primarily – but warriors when necessary, in everything from trade disputes to full-out multi-system warfare." His voice drops a little. "Something that's becoming rather too frequent, lately."
He rubs his forehead distractedly for a moment, then gets back on topic. "The power of the Jedi flows from the Force, what we call the energy of the universe created by all living things. We work with it, within it, let it guide our actions and our thoughts. But above all, the Jedi use the Force to defend and protect, never to attack; with respect for all life-forms; and in service of the galaxy, never for our own benefit."
"So – let me start taking your questions, and I'll go on from there."
