Zero is in a very strange mood today. How strange? Well, she's listening to the Dixie Chicks on her headphones. Come by and rescue her from herself or study or something.

"Okay, you know that it has to be able to run, right?" Parker suddenly glared. "Do you even have a driver's license?"

"I know cars," Angel said, folding his arms and giving her a Look. "I am a guy, you know."

Parker rolled her eyes. "Like I could forget. But it's L.A., you can't drive a junker. And you're going to need a P.I.'s license."

"I like the old classics," Angel said with a smile. Then he looked thoughtful. "I.. could get a P.I. thing. Right?"

Parker cocked her head, hit a couple buttons, then paused. "Yes. As long as you can pass the background check, pass the exam, and show... three years experience in some form of investigations." She frowned. "That part might be tricky to prove."

"Uh...huh," Angel said, thoughtfully. "And when I have a hard time with, oh, any of that? Then what?"

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Then you don't get a license," Parker said slowly, "and can't call yourself a P.I." She looked thoughtful. "Of course, there are ways around that."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Angel pointed at her. "Yes. Ways. Let's go with that. Think outside the box."

Parker gave him an amused look, then pulled up an e-mail program. After a little fiddling, she sent off an e-mail. A few minutes later, she got a reply. She turned the screen so he could see.

WHAT NAME ON LICENSE?

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Angel frowned in confusion. Then pointed at himself since, well, who else's name would be on it?

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Parker rolled her eyes. "Want to pick a last name? Or a first name? I warn you, Angelo might pick one for you if you don't."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"My name's Angel," he said, prepared to be pouty about this if he had to.

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Parker sighed, and typed very quickly.

GIRL'S NAME SINGULAR. MALE?

She glared at the screen. "Give me a minute to reason with him."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"It is not a girl's name," Angel said, as though the screen could hear him.

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Parker shook her head. "He's Angelo. You really think he's going to admit that your name is less girly than his?" Then she typed in "Krispy Kremes if you make it just ANGEL" and sent that.

A thinking pause.

WITH CHOCOLATE ICING?

"Oh, they are so going to hate me in Blue Cove...." Yes.

Another minute, and then:

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR'S LICENSE - STATE OF CALIFORNIA
APRIL 12, 2006

This is to show that the undersigned, Angel, has passed all qualifying exams and background checks pursuant to State Law 34.3.5....

"It scares me how fast you were able to make that happen," Angel said.

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Not me, Angelo. And it damn well should. Fortunately only three people on the planet know what he can do. And he only works for sugar."

Thanks.

KRISPY KREME!

Yeah, yeah.

SIGN. SEND $150 TO STATE. ALL GOOD.

"As soon as they've got the affidavit, you're set." Parker crossed her arms, looking pleased.

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks, Parker," Angel said, with geniune gratitude. "I really appreciate it."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Parker shrugged one shoulder, and looked amused. "My part of assisting the teeming masses you're helping-- keeping you from being arrested for impersonating a P.I."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"I dunno. Some people say I look good in handcuffs."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Lucky me," Angel replied. He stood up and moved to lightly tap Parker's head with the papers she'd given him. "I gotta go. I'll bug you if I've got more questions."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Parker batted away the pages. "Do that. And you owe me for Krispy Kremes. And maybe some Jolt cola."

Re: Third Period

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-13 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, ma'am," Angel promised, giving her a quick salute.
