Good morning, everyone! The sun was shining, the weather was getting pleasantly warm, the freaking gross cicadas were crunching under your feet and Anakin had set himself up in the park with a bullhorn and a bunch of giant plastic storage containers full of ice water.

Surely this will end well for everybody!

"Today you will participate in the ten toes challenge!" Anakin announced. "Working in teams, you will lay on your backs and balance these containers of ice water on your socked feet. Then, going in a circle, you must each take off one sock, then the other, without tipping the water onto yourselves. It's about teamwork!"

And gravity. And Anakin's personal amusement.

"Come down when I call your name and get your team socks!" He grinned. "Oh, and no powers again this week, please."

Oh. Look. There was a Barry sitting down next to someone he just happened to be dating. Fancy that.

"Not hungry or are you just feeling the needs to supplement the Porg's diet?" he said giving her a smirk.

"Culinary war crimes flashbacks," Summer explained, meeting that smirk with a rueful smile of her own. "We did beans and hot dog popsicles in class yesterday."

Human flesh? Okay, fine. Flies in ice cream? Sure, why not?

Frozen hot dogs and baked beans on a stick?

A bridge too far!!

She offered the pretzel over to Barry. "Want some? I am so not finishing it, I don't think I'm going to be able to eat for a week, I really need to start promoting my food courses as highly effective diet programs..."

"Uhhhh after that description of a popsicle I'm going to pass," Barry said making a face. "I almost dropped by class yesterday so I'm glad I missed that one. Maybe next week if the choice is more palatable."

More for the birds, then! Summer ripped off another piece and tossed it over for a few flamingos to fight over before grinning over at him.

"So in other words," she said, "I'm never going to see you in class, because the whole point of it is is that nothing we make in there is even remotely palatable."

Or the rare instance where it, surprisingly, actually was.

She leaned in a little to nudge him with her elbow. "I did make mine with vegan meat with you in mind, though," she said. "There's totally a faux bologna cake and some Spaghetti-O
Jello in my fridge with your name on it, if you want."

"Well how could I pass something like that up?" Barry joked. "And if I can't stop by class for the food, I could at least stop by for the company. And the ractions of your students."

"Ohmygod, Barry," Summer gushed. "It is sooo good. Just when I start to worry that I'm losing my touch, they prove me wrong and give me liiife."

Plus, there was the constant outpouring of approval from Hannibal, which she didn't realizes there on a conscious level, but was practically radiating off of him and was pretty much like crack to her.

"You should still come over, though," she added, her grin going a little sly. "After work, maybe." Not like he'd be sleeping anyway, right? "I mean, I'm assuming you're not too busy if you've managed to emerge from the warehouse long enough to make an appearance here..."

"Well I'd never want to miss the craziness of summer Wednesdays," Barry said returning the sly look back at Summer. "And I'll totally stop by for the class. But if you want me to stop by after work.... well, I would never turn down that kind of invitation."

"Yeah," Summer's grin softened, a little pink starting to spread across her cheeks; she tossed the last of the pretzel toward whichever bird was fast enough to claim it to free up her hand so she could reach for Barry's as she leaned her shoulder into his, "I always did like coming to all these stupid Wednesday activities, for some reason...

"And good. That'll give me something to look forward to while dealing with whatever bullshit Tino has on store for me tonight. Come by at close? Walk me home?"

You know. That long, arduous journey across the street.

"I'd love that," Barry said, grateful for the lean in and giving her hand a squeeze. "Maybe Pancakes can have some of that extra dank catnip?"

"With that kind of thinking, you just might win her over yet."

"You mean I'm still on the outs with her?" Barry said with mock concern. "Damn. You'd think I'd won her over with that cardboard box I brought over. And the robot arm with the laser pointer."
