Good morning, everyone! It's time for another summer of Anakin Skywalker Thinks This Teaches Team Building and Also Amuses Himself (Mostly the Second Thing) but "Shenanigans" Is Easier!

The bleachers for viewing were set up in the park backed up to the pond and near the Belthazor Commemorative Divot. Food vendors, remembering how this worked, had arrived with hot dog, popcorn, and rum for the squirrels. Huge flatscreens were set up facing the bleachers, which gave people a hint that today's event would not just stay inside the park, and the cameras were trained at...well, ankle height or the sky for now because squirrels and rum.

Anakin and his bullhorn were standing behind a folding table stacked high with brightly patterned shirts and people who had been here before knew that just because the shirts were free, it never, ever meant you wanted to wear them.

"GOOD MORNING!" he boomed through the bullhorn when enough people were gathered. Just behind the table, invisible because of the piles of shirts, Beaker meeped cheerfully. "Welcome to another summer of team building activities!"

He might be waiting for a while if he was expecting cheers, just saying.

"Today, as has become tradition, we shall conduct a relay race around the island to acquaint you newcomers with where things are!" he said. "Please listen as your name is called and then come up for your festive t-shirts. We shall have three teams of eight."

After everyone had gotten their shirts and teams settled, Anakin reached for the bullhorn again. "Today, we are going without powers if you have any!" he yelled, which still not necessary with a bullhorn, Anakin. "First two team members to the starting line, the rest of you ~~handwavily~~ find your stations around the island! Ready, steady--go!"

"I mean," Annie said, considering it. "Probably not? And someone has to go on the bottom."

And plus no one would be able to tell she was using it, unless she tattled on herself as she just had.

"Though now I wanna know if he's gonna have one of these later in the summer where we do get to use powers." Because Annie might actually sign up for that, on purpose and everything.

"That would be nice," Wanda said. "Maybe I wouldn't have looked quite as pathetic with the bowling ball if I could use mine."

She would still look stupid with the shirt and the shoes though.

"Mine wouldn't have helped me with swimming." Honestly, it would take a very specific contest for Annie's non-strength powers to be relevant.

"You know you can't say that without saying what you can do," she added, smiling. "It's the rules."

"It's like a whole list of things. Flight, telekinesis, energy blasts, force fields, telepathy," she said, holding up her hand and allowing a little red wisp of energy come out of her fingers. "And that's the non-witch related stuff."

"...saying that all out loud does make me understand the 'no powers' rule better."

"Color me jealous," Annie said, even more curious now. It was a good thing she already had made her peace with how Captain America seemed a whole lot like Soldier Boy, since right now Annie was experiencing the weirdest sense of deja vu.

"I can match you on energy blasts," she added with a little smile, holding out one hand and letting it glow faintly from within as her eyes immediately sparked gold. "But that's it. Probably evens things out to nix the powers, yeah."

Considering Wanda could probably win this whole thing herself and then do a victory lap with that list.

"It wouldn't be fun overpowering actual children anyhow," Wanda said with a sigh. "At least that's what I'm telling myself to make me feel better."

"I always kinda feel like powers are cheating, anyway," Annie admitted, "even if they weren't kids. And honestly, from what I hear, that guy --" she nodded towards Anakin, "-- is the type to see someone using their powers and just make it worse the next time out of spite."

At least, that was her takeaway from radio and from running Rey's obstacle course.

"That is good to know," she said, looking over at Anakin. "I guess I should have guessed from the excessive bullhorn usage."

"I think he's, like, in charge of the school," she replied, frowning as she looked over at Anakin.

She stuck her hand back out towards Wanda, this time without it glowing. "Annie, by the way."

"Wanda," she said, shaking her hand. "Nice to meet you. Even if I prefer to be less sweaty when I meet people."

That bowling ball thing had been a lot, okay?

"I mean, I feel like this is my best look," Annie replied solemnly.

She was still dripping. There was a whole mascara situation on her cheeks. And there was the shirt.
