The good weather seemed to last throughout the day, but the bonfire was there to help with all your s'more needs all the same, much like all the other offerings of the food and drink tables.

Or maybe you just wanted to sit under a tree and judge people from afar. That was cool, too.

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

“Then you’ll be fine,” Travis assured her. “Me, I am . . . definitely in need of a good hobby.”

"Did you sign up for any of those workshops?" she asked. "A friend of mine mentioned them to me."

"There's a wine tasting one I signed up for," Travis said. "Sounded interesting. You?"

"The magic one, predictably," she said. "Someone wanted to sign me up for the paint ball one but I'm going to pass on voluntarily being pelted."

"Yeah, I generally say 'no' to pretend warfare myself," Travis agreed. "And, you know, no magic from where I'm from, far as I know. So wine tasting seemed like the way to go."

"It seems fun, at least," she said. "I think I might have played myself picking a workshop that sounds like an actual class."

"Maybe a little," Travis teased. "But hey, it'll be good experience for your new shop, right?"

"That's the idea," she said with a nod. "I haven't been in school in years, though, so I guess there's some first day jitters happening."

She didn't want to be the least experienced witch even if she was most likely the least experienced witch.

"It's been at least a decade for me," Travis said. "Not since the fire academy. I'm sure you'll be great, though."

"It's an occupational hazard," Travis joked. "Half the time I'm meeting someone, I immediately have to encourage them to be calm so I can rescue them from certain death."
