Cognitive Logic in Understanding Evidence; Wednesday, Second Period [01/06].
The class instructions would direct the students to meet at the danger shop for each class, unless otherwise noted by the teacher, and if they were new and had trouble finding the danger shop, well...they probably weren't going to do too well in a class about finding things out, were they? Either way, as they arrived, they would find themselves on the doorstep of an elaborate, ostentatious mansion in the middle of a dark and stormy night. A butler greets them at the door before ushering them in, welcoming them to the party. "Mr. Corpse shall be down shortly," the butler assures them, leading them into the dining hall, where a long table awaits with chairs becoming progressively filled by classmates and your teacher. "He apologizes for the delay, but implores you to please, get started without him! So have a seat, and we'll begin!"
Once everyone was there and seated, the class did begin, twofold. In the butler moving around to place before everyone the first course of what is clearly a very fancy meal, and in Rosa looking them all over and explaining.
"Welcome," Rosa said, "to Cognitive Logic in Understand Evidence, a practical look at solving a very specific crime. For the purposes of this class, you don't know each other. You've never seen each other in your entire lives. We are all strangers here gathered under the invitation of a mysterious Mr. Corpse. Do you know Mr. Corpse? Is he a stranger to you? Who are you and what are you doing here at his party? All details that only you and our host are privy to....
"So," she picked up the glass of 'wine' that the butler had just filled before moving on to the next cup, peering thoughtfully around the table, "who might you be? And how is it that you know our dear Mr. Corpse? That will be our first class, getting to know our fellow diners, on this night where absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong..."

It took a bit of concentration to make sure she took the time to concentrate on what she was supposed to be doing not ogling the magic that created this room.

This totally did look like a murder thing though.

The house was fancy, all right, although she'd been in fancier. Mostly Connor's mom's place.

Dinner Party Introductions - CLUE, 01/06.
Rosa grinned a little into the lead up, quirking a chin at the person sitting directly to her left (and the order of response will indicate positions around the table!).
"You first."
The idea, of course, is to make up your own character for the purposes of the game. Or don't! Rosa's sure you're all characters enough on your own without making things up, too!

She pretended to dab her eyes with a hanky and sniff in sadness.
“Mr. Corpse is my brother-in-law’s cousin twice removed. Unfortunately both my sister and brother-in-law died a year ago after attempting to cross the Thames in a rowboat so we aren’t that close.”
Enola made a note to wear her widow costume for the next class.

"Name's Wayne," he said. "Erm. Mr. Corpse...bought one of our dogs."
So he wasn't good at the whole make-believe thing.
And Mr. Corpse had a dog now, apparentleh?

"I'm Piper Grace," she said, taking a moment to note how weird it was to have a last name. "My mother and Mr. Corpse are old friends, and out of the goodness of his heart, he's been generous enough to sponsor me to nursing school."
She was staying with what she knew while also trying to be creative.
'Piper' lowered her eyes. "Some have said that I resemble Mr. Corpse but, of course, that is impossible. My father died in an accident when I was young."
Ah, but now she was possibly the illegitimate daughter of Mr. Corpse.
But, Goddess, what a name.

...with both eyes at once. Don't mistake that for a blink! No, it was very clear that she was somehow winking with both eyes at once.

Even though using it made no sense, as Justin had swaggered around with 'Heartstriker' on his nametag and Bob had laughed at him for using outside of the DFZ and basically brothers were the worst, okay?
Eventually, as Julius watched the rest of the class go around, if you were already using a fake, play off of what was real?
"I'm Julian Hart," he said, borrowing his tone from his brother David, who was an Arizona Senator - every so slightly arrogant, even under the friendly. "My family have been well-acquainted for years with the Corpses." He tried not to wince at the unintended accuracy in that statement. "We travel in the same social circles - the old man even sponsored me in several of his old clubs and societies at school. As a personal favor to Mother, of course."
Oh god he sounded like
so many of his siblingssuch a prat.Re: Dinner Party Introductions - CLUE, 01/06.

"I've never met Mr. Corpse before this evening. My employers are looking into striking a deal of sorts, and have sent me to ascertain if he'd be amenable."
[ahahaha i completely forgot i was in this class]
And then...! -- CLUE, 01/06.
Cut off by a bloodcurdling scream!
And, moments later, the butler came rushing back into dining room to announce, "Oh! It's terrible! Mr. Corpse! We just found his body! He's..."
Cue dramatic peal of lightning...
"Dead!"
"Dead?" cried Rosa, bolting up from her chair in what was not a totally scripted or planned moment or anything, what?
"Dead!" the butler responded with devistation. "We've just found him, lying there, definitely diseased, in the ballroom!"
"Well, then," Rosa stated, looking around the table, "I think we all know what we must do now, then. To the ballroom!"
Pause.
"...for next class, anyway. We'll get started on the cold dead corpse bright and early next Wednesday. Try to stay alive until then."
[[ and, of course, reactions, questions, comments, trying to finish up that delicious fake meal before you depart are not only welcome, but encouraged ]]

Apologies to the person across from her who might have had a few crumbs spat in their direction.

And then tripping over it, falling to the ground.
She stayed there, one hand to her chest.
"Goddess!"
