Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of chairs and tables by the bonfire, and some further out on the lawn for anyone who might want to enjoy their food alone, or just gaze at the new folks and try to figure them out. All of these potential activities were valid!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"The war-gift would be useful for that," Jules acknowledged. "Doors I can manage without much trouble."

Even if using the gift in such a manner tended to make the war-gifted back home bristle at the indignity of it all. Not that they'd say as much, in front of their Queen. But she could tell they all were thinking it.

"I mean, I could try putting a portal inside the cupboard and sticking my head and arm in it to try and grab something, but they've usually booby-trapped them somehow, so it's not the smartest plan," 'Yana admitted. "Your war-gift would be much more useful."

It was a war-GIFT! Gifts were meant to be used for fun! Right?

"It took me a while to master the art of opening a door without just straight up ripping it off the hinges," Jules confessed. "It's not meant to be used in subtle ways." Which absolutely was not stopping her from trying.

Hence why another cookie was going whizzing past, probably doomed to bean some poor unsuspecting picnic-goer in the back of the head.

"Damn it."

Illyana tilted her head, considering the food table for a second. "Hrm. I have an idea."

With one hand, she conjured a stepping disk a few feet above the table, and with another, an equally-sized one next to Jules. "Okay, tray just aiming it into the portal!"

This way, the only person Jules might hit was herself, Camden, or 'Yana.

"All right," Jules said, sounding equal parts dubious and intrigued. She narrowed her eyes and directed her gift at another cookie, aiming it at the portal.

A second later, it came rocketing out the one next to her, and she whipped out a hand to catch it with a whoop of victory.
