Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of chairs and tables by the bonfire, and some further out on the lawn for anyone who might want to enjoy their food alone, or just gaze at the new folks and try to figure them out. All of these potential activities were valid!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Are you dead, too?" Wei Wuxian asked. "I am, but most people here aren't. It'd be nice to meet someone else who's dead. I'm still not sure how I got here, but I might be able to come up with a theory if I had more information." He picked up one of the ghost pepper donuts and took a large bite.

Was this what Klaus had to deal with? That absolute baby.

"No, I'm not dead. I'm temporally displaced." But he wasn't suffering from paradox psychosis, which was nice. "If I were dead, this would be very different."

"Oh? Where- when are you from? And what body should you be in?" Wei Wuxian asked.

"When is a little more complicated," Five replied slowly. "But I am supposed to be nearly sixty. Not a teenager."

He was actually kind of into being able to eat everything he wanted, though. Just a little.

"Most of the cultivators back home slow their aging, but they don't usually choose to look quite so young," Wei Wuxian said. "Still, someone in their early twenties could easily be your age or older. Are you teaching, then?"

"...no," Five settled on after taking several deep breaths to keep from having a psychotic break.

"Ah, well, things are different in other worlds," Wei Wuxian nodded wisely. "Who suppresses the fierce ghosts where you come from?"

"No one. Why would we need to?"

idk, ask Klaus, Five. It was ~the worst~ super power after Ben's.

"Because otherwise they destroy things and kill people?" Wei Wuxian shrugged. "Somebody must do it. Maybe there's an organization that quietly takes care of such things."

"China," Wei Wuxian told him. "Not the one most people know. I think I must have traveled in time. Some people have traveled further than me, though. Did you know there are people living among the stars? And my roommate's from Arizona!"

"Yes, my school appointed guide apparently is." He was just going to look amused at the combination of living among the stars and Arizona. "So, this is sort sort of... nexus."
