Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Whatever aspect of the island made sure the weather was nice on picnic day didn't seem to be able to control the temperature. It wasn't freezing, but it would definitely more comfortable out on the lawn with a coat on. Thankfully, the conditions were just right for a bonfire in the center of the lawn, so people could gather and stay warm once they'd made their introductions.

Once the tables and chairs were set up and everything was properly glittered, all that was needed were people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"The class is on Career Development," Lucille said. "And is there anything you think I should know? About dealing with the students?"

"Perhaps I could invite you, or rather Tisarwat and I. Of course, we don't have a TV."

Lucille felt that that Tisarwat was moving in was determined enough to be able to be mentioned to people.

"And that, uhhh..." said Amaya, trying her best to maintain a perfectly normal smile because, bless her, there was no way Lucille could have understood exactly what the context of that statement would have meant for Amaya, or, zards, she certainly hoped she didn't! Because if that's what she was shooting for...

...yikes.

"That would make a movie night a little more difficult," she said, cleared her throat a moment, and honed back in on the teaching bit. "And I can't say there's too much share with you that you probably don't already know. It's the island that's the difficult thing for new teachers, and you've already got a good handle on that. The students are great, though, I can't even say I've really ever had any trouble with any of them!"

Then again, one of her favorite students had been Beaker, so her margins for that were a little...forgiving.

That was definitely not what she was shooting for.

"There is the possibility of buying a TV," Lucille said. "We will see."

Amaya didn't seem to appreciate the idea, for some reason.

"I suppose I shall manage the students, then."

"Well, I suppose in the case that you do get a TV," and only in that case!, "it might be something to consider. And I'm sure you'll do just fine, Lucille. Career Development, though! What made you strike an interest in that?"

"Oh, I didn't choose the subject of the whole class," Lucille said. "But perhaps I might be able to teach something of interest."

It would give her the opportunity to travel with the students too.

"You are the owner of your own business now, too, right?" Amaya pointed out thoughtfully. "Since you've taken over the flower shop. I'd say that gives you an excellent position on the topic at hand. How's that been going for you so far? When the weather starts getting a bit warmer, I might have to come bother you about some new seeds for my planters."

"I never expected to own a flower shop," Lucille said. "But I find myself enjoying it. Perhaps there is some experience I can share, we'll see. Of course you are very welcome to stop by for seeds. I should order them soon, so let me know if there is anything in particular you would like."

"I will," Amaya nodded with a faint smile. "I'll have to really get in there and see what's working and what might need some changing around a bit, but it'll be nice to get something new growing in the greenhouse. Might work just fine to go with what you've already got, as well."
