The class would be meeting in the classroom that week, with Rosa sitting on the desk as she usually did when this was definitely a low-effort class because she didn't really want to deal with trying to come up with something good in addition to Thanksgiving stuff, so there you had it. And when everyone was there and she checked the watch that she wasn't wearing, she went ahead and got started.

"I know everyone here is from a wide range of places and dimensions or whatever," she said, "so some of you have probably never even heard of Thanksgiving before coming here and the cultural context is completely lost on you, but I'm pretty sure most of us can related to being roped into something with family, friends, or coworkers that you'd rather not have to deal with, that makes a big deal out of spending time together, putting aside differences for the sake of togetherness, all that sort of holiday celebratory bullshit. Sometimes, it's just something you have to put up with, and everyone puts up with it differently, so today, we're just going to talk about different ways to handle various situations that holidays like this inspire, and just pick up from each other the best, most badass ways of dealing with them and sort of go from there.

"Because, let's face it, you're all pretty badass in your own ways already, so maybe we can all just....learn from each other."

Again, low-effort. Why bother going out of her way to teach something when she could just have the students teach each other, hm?

Nod along in miserable agreement or wonder just what made your teacher so cynical and jaded about this sort of thing. Or just sit there baffled with no frame of reference! If anything, this part of the class is pretty short today!

If Illyana looked confused, well, she'd only ever celebrated Thanksgiving once.

...and was under the impression it was a day of reflection for the magical community, on how they'd survived a year without the world ending due to outside magical influence or events.

She'd only ever celebrated it with Strange and Wong, and so was completely ignorant of the actual history of the holiday.

Rosa will propose a Thanksgiving-inspired scenario; the students can chime in with their thoughts and opinions on how to best handle it. Bounce ideas off each other, judge the crap out of each other, decided to take a nap instead...

Several family members with very different views on hot button issues, especially about your personal life, keep attempting to corner you into a conversation about these topics that you know you don't agree with them about.

"Well. That about sums up my Dad asking me about a ton of stuff about school and my grades," Miles said with a sigh. "I usually tell him I'm fine and then nod and zone out for about an hour as he lectures me about my future."

You're at a Friendsgiving dinner with your coworkers or classmates, and the host is notoriously bad at cooking, something that evident in all the food, especially since you're pretty sure she used sugar instead of salt in pretty much everything. No one wants to hurt her feelings, but the food is practically inedible.

Someone decided it would be interesting to try to butcher a live turkey for the meal this year, only instead of being able to kill the bird before the meal, the bird is actually Evil Incarnate and is a violent terror that is now set loose on the apartment.

You've been roped into playing board games with your sisters and their kids, and your annoying niece keeps winning everything. You suspect she's definitely cheating. Also, she's six.

"Oh, well," said Wayne, with solid, unwavering certainty and a disapproving furrow deep in his brow. "You've gotta call it out, the cheatin'. Kids're too soft these days, anywhey. Best nip that one right in the bud, bud."

"I was the cheating six-year-old," Illyana admitted, dimly recalling a gathering at the X-Mansion with a Christmas tree, after her rescue from Arcade. "In my defense, I didn't speak English and didn't realize I was cheating."

Wayne turned his head toward Illyana, squinting thoughtfully.

"Didja grow outta it?" he asked.

"Well, now I speak English," she pointed out cheerfully. "And I am no longer six, so growing happened at some point."

You're receiving an awful lot of unwanted attention either from a coworker or classmate at a work or school function, or from someone you are definitely related to in a distant way at a family function. Either way, this is hardly the ideal interaction you would like to be having with any of them.

I feel you. As one of my coworkers put it yesterday: “Black Friday Month is over! Let Christmas Year begin!”

I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY. IT IS NOT OVER.

It is still a very real bloody battle for those of us on the frontlines.

But soon....sooooooon....

It is REAL INTERESTING being on this side of things, I tell you what.

There's a lot of taking vendors to task for things like showing up late, not showing up at all, showing up a number of pieces short...

One of my coworkers had a vendor attempt to deliver a truckload full of product to the head office building instead of the warehouse. TWICE.
