Lana was in the library again today, but not alone, because Gemis was with her. The books seemed unfazed by the tuk'ata, a few brave ones even hurling themselves at him to get rides.

"Honestly?" Lana asked him as he galloped by with a book of poetry and a history tome perched between his spines.

"What?" Gemis grinned. "I like books."

Well, that certainly tracked.

The library was open!

Was that a fox that waltzed through the doors, trailed by a disgruntled 'Yana?

Absolutely.

"She needs books on creation magic," Nestor said, his tail swishing with amusement. "Someone need to spend some time on her academics."

"I meant for that flower to have five blooms!"

"Of course you did."

Lana eyed the fox, then shrugged and offered Illyana a shrug.

She clapped her hands sharply. "Right! Anybody here about creation magic?" It was a lot faster to just ask than to search, she'd found.

"I see you've got your own companion," she noted as they waited for a book. She nodded to her own. "I've got Gemis."

"And I am Nestor," he said, bowing slightly. "A pleasure to meet you face-to-face, Lady Lana."

He inclined his head slightly in Gemis' direction as well. "Gemis. Interesting form."

"By the Dark Gods, why are you such a nerd," 'Yana groaned, rubbing at her eyes.

"Because you're a nerd. I'm just much less inclined to hide it than you are."

"I'm not a Lady yet," Lana said. "Lana's fine. And don't worry, we're nerds, too."

"I like my form," Gemis said. "It's perfect for a Sith. I like your colours," he added politely. "You're an Earth animal?"

"A fox," he confirmed. "Vulpes vulpes to be precies. I am a mix between the more common red fox, and a more rare silver coloration."

"He's a nerd," Illyana repeated, though more fondly this time. "I keep telling him he doesn't have to explain himself, he's fine as he is."

Nestor just gave her a long-suffering sigh. "I wonder where I picked up the habit."

Lana smiled. "I don't mind."

"Neither do I," Gemis added. "I'm a tuk'ata," he explained in turn. "A species developed by Sith breeding and alchemy to companion with Sith Lords and guard their tombs. We're known for being vicious but loyal," he added, a bit proud.

Lana gave Illyana an amused shrug. What could you do with nerds?
