"Hey, everyone," said Summer, starting class with a faint grin on her face that she hoped, by now, would make anyone familiar with any of her classes a little worried for what was in store for them, but it wasn't that bad, she promised! Well, maybe for one of you...

"Since today's our last class," she continued, "and you all did a really good job, like, seriously, there were some serious efforts, and that's all I can ask for, but, anyway, it's the last class so I thought I'd do something a little special and bring in a surprise guest judge."

So surprise that even she didn't know it yet!

"Everyone, to your stations, and we'll reveal your ingredients and the mystery guest judge once you know what you're working with!"

"Okay," said Summer, who was going to revel in saying this for the last dramatic time. "Open your baskets. Today, your ingrediants include:

Tea

"Just tea. All bagged and powdered and a little bit out-of-date, with some really interesting flavor profiles, but there's plenty of it. So your goal today, then, obviously...is to brew a cup of tea that Seivarden over here," she beamed beatifically at her newly appointed special guest judge, "will approve of.

"Your time starts....now!"

All the tea is moddable, but all the tea should also be terrible.

Seivarden's expression shifted from surprise to horrified to glaring.

"Summer. None of that can be called tea."

"See?" said Summer, to the class as a whole before her grin, now slightly apologetic, settled back on Seivarden, and she couldn't help a small laugh at that glare. "You guys've really got your work cut out for you this week!"

"I haven't agreed to this," Seivarden pointed out.

"Each tea you try, you get a drink on me tomorrow," Summer offered. "How's that?"

And considering what was going down in Caritas tomorrow, Seivarden was going to need every one of those drinks, and Summer couldn't wait.

"A drink on you that's not a jello shot."

This was not negotiable.

Summer scoffed as if offended that Seivarden would even suggest such a thing, Rollins g her eyes.

"Well, duh," she said, "obviously."

"I had to make sure," Seivarden said with a snort.

Wayne was mostly just trying to understand what the big deal was.

It was just tea. Figgur it ouwt!

Nell sniffed and tasted the different teas and just... no. She knew her tea and she knew Seivarden and just... no.

Tell Summer and Seivarden what you've brewed and then see if it passes the test! Or if Seivarden will even bring herself to drink it!

Seivarden was going to judge the tea. And whoever made it accordingly.

Nell came up empty-handed. "M'sorry, but there was just no way I was bringing Seivarden anything I could have made with what I was given. I apologize, but I would've had to apologize a lot more to you'un if I'd brought you anything."

Smiling, Seivarden said: "I'm glad you stick to your high standards."

Nell smiled up at Seivarden. "If it had just been for she'un, I'da come up with somethin' that wasn't too terrible, 'cause it's for class, but there's no way I'da done that to you'un. You understand tea."

And she was pretty sure even the best combination of what they'd been given would've caused Seivarden at least mental anguish if nothing else.

"As do you, I think," Seivarden said. "I appreciate your blends, by the way."

That was definitely a compliment coming from a Radchaai.

Nell beamed and blushed at the same time. "My! Coming from you that's quite a compliment. I've been experimenting with some new teas. I can leave you'un a package at the store if you'd like."

Tahani was British and she didn't just carry around an expensive handbag to show off that she had an expensive handbag (though that was 60 percent of it): it was also to hold things.

Like a box of Darjeeling loose leaf tea. "Stale PG Tips for you?" she said, overcompensating as she poured decent, by God, smuggled tea for Seivarden.

Seivarden knew the scent of good tea. She took a sip, then said, in Summer's direction: "Do you know how terrible this is?"

Meanwhile, she smirked at Tahani.

"Such terrible taste."

Her opinion of you was increasing, Tahani.

She's there! And super proud of herself for constructing a good distraction to get her through the better part of the day.
