Time Management- Monday- 3rd period

Last week Jaye had told the class that if they came up with a decent enough excuse to get out of class, she'd create a ditch day for them. Even though she didn't know how to do that.

And then she realized that if they were learning anything, they just wouldn't show up to class.

So Jaye was here in case anyone did show up, but she was actually hoping she'd taught them well enough to know better. Which was something she didn't expect. Look at her, caring!

Of course she was kind of wishing she'd made them come in just so she could focus on something besides the music. Sometimes she'd forget it was there, and then all of a sudden she was aware of it and it ruined her life.

"What the fork is going on with the island?" Eleanor asked as she had passed out for most of Sunday in her room after a very long drinking session over the weekend. "We have a forking airport now run by birds."

Eleanor obviously just showed up to WTF at people.

"Yeeeeeah. The island gets weird sometimes? But unless they all decide they're going to roast us on spits by the end of the week this'll probably be over after a week," Jaye told her.

"Okay. And have you noticed this?"

Eleanor reached into her shorts' pocket and pulled out a ladder.

"I just want to make sure this isn't just me tripping on bad tequila. 'Cuz I'm pretty sure I didn't put that in my pocket."

"Yeah. I had a monkey hand me a traffic cone so I've got one of those in there, too," Jaye said with a shrug. "This is our lives for now."

Years from now it's these type of conversations that will allow Eleanor to deal with Jason Mendoza's randomness.

"Yeah. Okay. Are we doing anything for class or can I just leave?"

"Honestly I'm amazed you showed up," Jaye admitted. "You have to be here next week, though."

Eleanor looked around. "Hey. That makes me the star pupil today right?"

"I mean, you're here, but you also gave an excuse to not be here last week, so..."

She raised both hands and made the judging-scale gesture.

She sighed. "Fine. I'm going outside and shake some trees. Hopefully random booze will just fall along with it."

"IF it does, let me know which trees do that," Jaye said, and then, "Probably not something I should say to a student."

Jaye. You've met Wayne. Were you really surprised he was still in class? Reaaaally?

Well, he was here, just sitting there with his arms folded in front of him and waiting for class to get started, about two seconds away from dropping a Pitter-Patter on her.
