Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 24, Period 1, 04.06.06

[OOC: Projects can be presented as late as Tuesday, so take some time and have some fun if you want. Don't forget to wear hats for EC. If you'd like, the shop can probably generate a hat for you. And what follows is probably the shortest main body to a class post I've ever written. Class Info Post.]

"Welcome to the Danger Shop, class! Today are your presentations. When it's your turn, please get up, present your theory, and do whatever it is you're going to do with the shop! I can't wait to see what everyone came up with!"

Anakin nodded. "Feel like I've been hit with my very own vending machine of justice."

"Put this on." She holds out a black fedora, very Phillip Marlowe. "It'll make you feel cool and intense instead of just depressed. All the lone wolf P.I.'s wear them after they have a rough breakup."

She checks their notes, and says, "So. Galactic orbit?"

[off to work, back at 11:15EST or so]

Anakin shook his head. "Jedi don't wear hats. I'm trying to be a good Jedi. You know, for once."

He took the hat and twisted the brim in his hands. "And yeah, orbit."

He finally stopped brooding moping being King of the Emo staring at his boots long enough to get a good look around the Danger Room Shop. "It should show up like it did on the television in my room. But, you know, bigger and cooler looking."

"It'll look good on you, and it's for extra credit, and it's a diplomatic... thingie. You know, to pass you off as a native."

Parker hit the re-set button, and suddenly? The class is in orbit over Earth, near the cheesy Gorilla-a-Tron. "Yes!"

"Okay, so, our presentation is about how karma, that is, the Force and the balance of the universe, smacks down evil-doers depending on how badly they upset the world. And our example is Marvin the Martian."

Marvin pops into existence, and glares at the audience. "Greetings, Earthlings. Prepare to become monkeys!"

Anakin jammed the hat onto his head with a sigh. On some people it would look rakish--on Anakin, it was just kind of...squashed.

Anakin looked up at Marvin and smiled.

"Marvin is a big believer in order, getting his own way, and having an unobstructed view of Venus from Mars. Unfortunately for him, there's a planet in the way--this one. His solution isn't to wait patiently for the orbits to realign favorably. He'd rather, well, blow up the Earth."

He looked at the class. "Which is bad."

"Very." Parker smiled. "Fortunately, someone is here to stop him."

Bugs popped into existence behind Marvin, tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Enhh. What's up, dork?"

"You will all fall to the might of my Monkey-izer!"
Marvin glared back, and pulled out a light saber.

Bugs did the same, and Parker hit pause. "For every action-- there is an equal and opposite reaction. Marvin wants to destroy Earth? Hello, Bugs shows up."

"With a lightsaber," Anakin added gleefully, pushing the button that brought up Bugs and Marvin dueling. "Because it turns out that not only is Marvin trying to bring his own violent and dark version of the galaxy into being instead of allowing what is meant to be to happen, he's a Lord of the Sith."

He looked confused. "Which I totally didn't know."

"It's easy to miss." Parker shrugged as Bugs read A Dummy's Guide to the Force and fought Marvin one-handed. "Since Marvin is amusing and cute, you wouldn't think he wanted to unbalance the universe, would you?"

With his lightsaber spinning off into the void, Marvin pulls out his Bubble-Gun and points it at Bugs.

"And here's where he makes his fatal mistake, and pushes the Vending Machine of Doom onto his own head."

Anakin froze the presentation.

"But what if it went the other way? What if Marvin's need for order had been channeled in a more productive manner and Bugs had been allowed to run amok?"

He waved his hand and the visual representation shifted--Bugs was now holding the red lightsaber and looking scary.

You know, for a rabbit.

"What would the Vending Machine of Doom do to him?"

The fight sped up, with Marvin attempting to keep Bugs at bay. Then Bugs very clearly cheated, suddenly whipping out a double-edged light-saber, and spinning it like a ninja. Ouch.

But hark! What's that?

It's Daffy, there to help his buddy Marvin!

"The thing about being a Sith is-- no back-up."

Anakin smirked as Daffy, a very familiar braid swinging by his right ear, moved to flank Marvin.

"And those two? Practice together all the time."

Marvin and Daffy, working in tandom, trapped Darth Bugs into falling down a conveniently placed ventilation shaft.

Anakin smiled in satisfaction. "The Vending Machine will squash all evil. Sometimes literally. Sometimes metaphorically. But it'll happen."

Parker grinned, and tilted her hat a little in satisfaction. "This concludes our presentation on the nature of evil and the universe, and karmic Darwinism. Even if you're smart, the drawbacks to being Eeeevil will inevitably snap back in your face, as the Rubber Band of the Force throws the Vending Machine in your face. Thank you for listening to our presentation."
