Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 24, Period 1, 04.06.06

[OOC: Projects can be presented as late as Tuesday, so take some time and have some fun if you want. Don't forget to wear hats for EC. If you'd like, the shop can probably generate a hat for you. And what follows is probably the shortest main body to a class post I've ever written. Class Info Post.]

"Welcome to the Danger Shop, class! Today are your presentations. When it's your turn, please get up, present your theory, and do whatever it is you're going to do with the shop! I can't wait to see what everyone came up with!"

Angel spent what was perhaps far too much time showing Sam the many, MANY sketches he'd drawn of what a proper 18th century opera house should look like.

He then sat back and let the Danger Room Shop do its thing.

He looked tired, like he'd gotten almost no sleep the night before.

"Hey," Veronica greeted him. She was a little more subdued than usual, thinking about everything that happened last night and wanting to call Weevil to find out what happened to Allie and how he got involved. "I brought hats for us to wear for extra credit," she said, pulling two of the pink, frilly hats from the tea party out of her bag.

Angel stared at her.

Veronica grinned and leaned over to put one of the hats on his head.

Angel leaned back, taking shameless advantage of the height difference.

Veronica had no problem with fighting dirty.

"You and Bel were pretty hot last night," she said in an effort to fluster and/or distract him.

Angel somehow managed to stumble a lean. "We were what??"

"You heard me," she said, leaning over again with the hat.

"What hot? How hot? There was no hot!" Busy with flail, Angel was totally oblivious to the hat being put on his head.

Veronica chuckled as she successfully completed her mission. Well, both missions, because it was always fun to see flaily Angel. "I got it all on tape. Want a copy?"

"I absolutely do n... wait, does it include the girlkissy?"

She nodded.

"Can I have two?"

"Why would you need two?"

"Why not need two?"

Veronica rolled her eyes. "I'll see what I can do."

Angel smiled. "Thanks. So are you going to do the presentation?"

She tilted her head. "I thought you were."

"No no no," Angel shook his head, which caused the hat to slip to a jaunty angle. "That involves public speaking. I don't do that."

"Oh, well, then I guess no tapes for you," Veronica said with a shrug.

"I provided you with pretty boykissy."

"That's true," Veronica agreed. "And I believe I may have returned the favor with the pretty girlkissy."

Angel drummed his fingers. "You know, I don't want to be crass and bring up the life-saving or anything..."

"Wanna read my essay on how I spent my spring break?" she countered.

Angel harrumphed. He thought more.

"You're better at it."

"But you look so much prettier in pink," Veronica said. "Besides, it's your theory more than it's mine. After this weekend..."

"Yeah but you're better with the talky thing."

Veronica sighed. "We'll do it together, okay?"

"Perfect. After you."

Veronica thwapped him on his pretty pink hat, but stood up and made her way to the front of the 'opera house'.

"Okay, so, our theory of justice is that it's all determined by the powers that be," Veronica began.

"Who dole out destinies without using a logic that'd make sense to anybody sane," Angel added, bitterly.

Veronica agreed whole-heartedly. "Yes," she nodded. "But sometimes, maybe, you have a choice about which pre-determined path you can take."

"You can't stop the destinies from happening," Angel said, "but you can maybe choose what you do in relation to those destinies."

"And you can see this theory in action in the cartoon where Bugs Bunny takes part in the Wagnerian Opera," Veronica said.

"What's
Opera Doc?
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051189/plotsummary)" Angel said, after checking his notes. "Bug - uh, Mr. Bunny's life or death is clearly left up to the Powers That Be, but both he and Mr. Fudd show that they can still control their actions and how they relate to what the Powers are doing. Though, uh, Mr. Fudd is playing a demi-god so it's a little fuzzier with him. But it works symbolically."

Veronica nodded. "Um, I think that's it. Any questions?"
