Today the shenanigans were inside the Danger Room because even Anakin couldn't source enough strawberry Jello powder to make a dent on the water surrounding the island.

The ~~unwilling victims~~ people showing up would find themselves looking down onto a huge rec room decorated for a child's birthday, complete with streamers, balloons, and a massive pinata (easily the size of a chair) swinging from the ceiling.

And the floor was entirely covered in red liquidy-goo..stuff...because Anakin wasn't actually going to cover everything in lava.

"Welcome to the Floor is Lava!" Anakin's voice boomed out to the audience. "...my son Christopher helped this week. You will work in teams of three to get from one end of the room to the other without falling into the extremely realistic lava...stuff. The fastest team will win a lava lamp but there are prizes for all! Listen for your names. Oh, and no powers, please."

Or sit around and eat fruit gummies, popcorn, cupcake, and goldfish crackers because Christopher had assisted with snacks, too.

Yay, kids food! And a terrifying room to stare at!

You don't even get a chance to save your own clothing here. Anakin was mean. Hopefully you were wearing sensible shoes?

You begin at the top of the room and there are several ways to get across the room to the exit. Choose to jump onto (slippery) end tables and (not as squishy as they should be) ottomans to get to the sofa, then climb onto the bookcase full of toys, jump onto the fireplace and over to the television, then onto the (spinning, surprise) rocking chair and rocking horse to get out! Or go from the end table and swing onto the window curtains to another spinning rocking chair, Miley Cyrus it up by swinging on the huge pinata and onto either the other ottoman or the upright piano and then to the rocking horse! Teamwork will help you get around--you score a point for each team member that escapes the room, and the team with the fastest time wins outright ~~as determined by the RNG~~.

Just...prepare to get eaten by lava.

Talk about setting an impossible standard there, Team One.

Okay, stuff you'd get for leaving a kids' party, which is exactly where Anakin had acquired it all: have some slime, some of those weird sticky hands, mini bubbles, playdoh, and candy dots that are definitely stuck to the paper.

Why yes, we have been watching the Floor is Lava on Netflix, how could you tell? The room is extremely moddable. Use the surprisingly robust streamers to monkey climb places, throw balloons at each other unhelpfully, mod the drawers of the end tables open and closed, etc., etc., etc.

Was Liam looking around the set up with a kind of... resigned bemusement? Yes, yes he was.

Because, you see, today was his birthday. And he was turning all of eight years old, which, if he'd been fully human might have involved something like this to mark the occasion.

He knew it was probably just coincidence, but you know what? He'd never actually had a birthday party, so he was going to claim it on some level.

HOORAY FOR ACCIDENTAL EIGHTH BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!

"Doesn't look like any lava I've ever seen," Liam noted drily.

Which was probably for the best since his last two lava-related experiences had involved, you know, his wife being kidnapped and his (temporary, obviously) death. Would've been something of a mood-killer.

This was...different. Of course, so was every Wednesday because Anakin was a strange man.

At least there were still snacks.

Elli was staring down into the rec room, why yes.

"Goddess," she murmured, "what is that on the floor?"

"Does... does anyone think what's on the floor is going to stain?" Elli asked, incredibly dubiously.

Her blue and white dress was probably not going to make it through this very well.

"Okay..." Kitty said, "this doesn't look so bad."

This was a lie.

"Whelp. This doesn't bode well."

Anakin.

Rey was judging you.

But she also looked pretty confident in this.

"Right." Duke looked around the room, then at his teammates. ". . . You know, I actually like our chances on this one."

"This way looks the easiest," Rey decided, nodding towards the end table.

Let's be real, swinging on curtains would be fun.
