There were a number of glass containers and buckets of very colorful sand waiting for the class when they arrived today. And, of course, the glitter was there too. They couldn't escape it.

"Today we'll be doing sand art," Tony said. "Which is slightly less messy than chalk." In his mind.

Steve gave him a "you adorable dumbass" smile. "Maybe," he hedged. "Sometimes it spills." He gestured at a bunch of samples he'd worked on over the week. "You can get as simple or as complex as you'd like. You can just make stripes, or you can try out some patterns."

"We have brooms," Tony muttered, not seeing the problem. Because he tended to end up covered in engine grease and soldering flux. "Try not to shake them once you get it done."

Someone learned the hard waaaay.

Steve was Very Good and didn't laugh at that advice. Because, yes, Tony had learned the hard way. "Have fun," he said, waving his hands at the containers, the funnels, and the sand. "I found this whole thing very soothing."

Of course Astrid was going to try for patterns. Astrid was going to try for a whole picture, if she could manage it, though she figured she'd still better try to stick with trying to recreate a California sunset over the Hollywood Hills or some sort of beachy ocean scene.

And then, for symbolism, she dediced she'd then take her sand out out to the beach later, or maybe on top of Selkie Point, and dump it out for the wind to carry it away, as a symbol of imperminence like a Buddhist mandala...

Amaya may have considered making patterns with her sand art, especially since Astrid made it look so easy, but it didn't take long for Amaya to discover that either Astrid was pretty gifted for this sort of thing or Amaya absolutely wasn't, gave up, and just stuck with some stripes.

In her defense, though, it was probably a little ambitious thinking she could pour her sand in just a way to make it look like a sword in the sand.

Stark wasn't going to try anything fancy. He was layering a variety of blues to start and occasionally poking at them with a stick to make the lines go down.

So far disaster hadn't struck. So far.

Steve was attempting to make sand art that looked like Iron Man in flight. It was...extremely abstract?
