Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The good weather continued throughout the day, making it very comfortable to be out on the lawn. Who would want to miss such a nice picnic?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Nothing."

That was the kneejerk response, after which she reconsidered with a tiny shrug. "Just... wondering, I guess."

"If you would have signed up for anything, had you known?" Liam guessed.

"Something like that."

She didn't really know how classes worked. She hadn't had to sign up for the only one she'd ever taken. It'd been mandatory for all the juvenile prisoners.

"Do you... think it's too late to even think about, now?"

"There's still two days before they even start," Liam pointed out. "You could always swing by the office up at the school and see if the paperwork's still there." Blissfully unaware, of course, that it would be moot even if she was able to sign up. "Or if not... there's another round of workshops in two months," he said encouragingly. "You should give this not-really-school thing a try with me."

Octavia shrugged one shoulder. "I'm mostly just curious about how Duke's yoga class will go," she admitted.

Though yes, now she was wondering what else they had on offer, and whether any of it would be useful.

"Somehow I doubt he'd object even if you just decided to crash without officially signing up," Liam pointed out, slightly amused.

"No," Octavia agreed. "But, still."

It was not the same thing as signing up for something.
firstofitskind: (a small smile)

"It's not quite the same as deciding to sign up," Liam said, echoing her narrative.

Signing up implied a premeditated decision to participate after all, which up until recently hadn't been Octavia's style.

That was one side of it. But Octavia was also thinking about it through her only existing class experience, which was being forced to take one.

Her nod was vague. "I guess I'll think about it," she said. "Maybe ask Duke what he thinks."

So a choice to do so was new and different, and worth trying out, in Liam's opinion.

(That was, of course, part of why he'd gone ahead and done so, after all.)

"I think if it's something you want to do, you should go for it."
