Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The good weather continued throughout the day, making it very comfortable to be out on the lawn. Who would want to miss such a nice picnic?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Magnus looked just heartbroken at that terrible fact.

"Maybe they can be the intro?"

"I'm sure they can," Octavia relented, because there was only so much puppy-eyeing she could withstand when she was having a decent day.

Well, it worked as he immediately beamed at her. "And then we can make cats the final exam. Cats are surly lil' guys, you know?"

"I don't know, Jono's kitten seemed pretty sweet to me," Octavia replied with a little shrug. "And the Halloween cats were fine."

She was naturally in tune with cats, though.

It was almost like they were dog people or cat people.

"Yeah, but cats you really gotta work at. Which makes them challenging. And challenging is good!"

Octavia shrugged again.

"I think cats just like me."

In her very limited experience.

"Maybe," he granted her. "But cats. You can be petting them and then bam. Clawing you for no reason."

It's because they were too worked up from all those good pets and needed to run around like a crazy person.

"Sounds like maybe that's what your class should focus on."

"...okay, you make a good point," he admitted.

Octavia shrugged.

"Sounds like a nice class, anyway."

"So, what's new with you then?" If not the wonder of pet ownership.

"Duke got arrested on Tuesday," Octavia replied, her voice immediately getting a lot more drawled. "That sort of took up the whole week."

"Oh, bummer! I have a friend in jail." Magnus, really? "But I think he was possessed when he committed the crime. But the one who possessed him is also kind of a friend? It's confusing. But I feel you. We can bake him a cake with a nail file inside."

Magnus had a very unique idea of jail.

Octavia had very limited experience with cartoons, and even she thought that sounded cartoonish.

"He got out the next day," she said, mostly ignoring all that. "It was just... hard for me." Hence how it had eaten up her week.

It was better than knocking out the guards and putting them in his pocket workshop. Which was a bad idea because he then accidentally got them killed by not being responsible for his pocket boys.

"You wanna hug?" He was already offering it up with open arms. Because he was a dang hugger.

"... Sure."

She even stepped into it.

Which meant she extra needed the hug. And Magnus was gonna just put his all into making sure it was the best. Like, nat 20 best.

"Feeling better?" he asked, still hugging her. "Because I can do this all day."

"I'm not going to let you hug me all day," Octavia replied, still kind of clinging to him as she did. "Pretty sure that's Duke's job, anyway."

"I could hug him too," Magnus offered. Because these arms? They were meant for killing. Also hugging.

Octavia snorted. "If he wants you to, sure."

"Clearly you just need to tell him how great these hugs are!"

Just that simple. Sure.

Octavia snorted softly as she finally pulled back.

"Why don't you tell him yourself?"
