Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Other places might have been expecting a cold front ~~wtf polar vortex~~, but the weather in Fandom was just right for welcoming in new people. The bonfire was mostly going for decoration, but there were also the makings for s'mores among the food offerings.

Mmmm, summer food.

The food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

[OCD is coming! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Well, the kids are getting older and it's safer here for them to explore using the Force than in Georgetown," Anakin explained.

"How old is older?" Jaye asked, not sure she wanted the answer.

She didn't realize how much she wasn't going to like the answer.

"Juliet's 10?" Anakin offered, wincing.

"...Wait what."

What.

"Yeah," Anakin sighed. "It's bad."

"How do I know anyone with a ten-year-old?" she said, still staring.

"You are very, very old," Anakin told her helpfully. "Sorry."

"I'm twenty-four," Jaye told him.

"Well that's just unfair," Anakin told her back.

"How old are you?" she asked, peering at him, because she was figuring out there was some funny time stuff happening, and also she was a jerk.

Anakin coughed something that sounded close to "forty."

"Wooow. I'm like half your age."

Not really! But she had to tease.

"Oh good," Anakin said dryly, "this got worse."

"You started it," Jaye pointed out. "I could have considered playing nice!"

"But that would seem even weirder," Anakin admitted.

"Is Rory old?" Because she was willing to also mock Rory!

"At least ten years older than you now," Anakin said.

Enjoy being under that bus, Rory!

"Okay," Jaye said, "I can work with this."

Guess who was gonna get a card addressed "to grandma" in the mail.
