Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Other places might have been expecting a cold front wtf polar vortex, but the weather in Fandom was just right for welcoming in new people. The bonfire was mostly going for decoration, but there were also the makings for s'mores among the food offerings.

Mmmm, summer food.

The food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

[OCD is coming! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Well, it's nice to make your acquaintance, Ulysses," Tahani said. "There were some very odd people at the shuttle. I believe there might be some drug use here, and not the fun kind."

"There's definitely the fun kind too," Ulysses said, because he should not have been signed up for this. He ran his hand back through his hair. "But, yeah. This place is... kinda fucked up, actually. Yeah. Like, weird shit happens, I thought someone was continuously slipping me acid for about teh first month I was here."

No, really, he should never have been signed up to do this.

"Yeah," said Ulysses, slowly. Because he was already guessing that student may have been, in fact, a rat.

He'd had classes with Sidon, okay. It had done permanent things to how his brain worked.

His hand danced vaguely in the air for a moment as he tried to look for a good way to explain it.

"It's because this place is fucked up."

"Not a metaphor," Ulysses confirmed, and promptly made a face at the memory. "A real, horrible, way too hot volcano that ruined my favorite jacket."

And also probably left him with some life-long trauma but, you know, he didn't like talking about that. Or thinking about it.
