Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Other places might have been expecting a cold front wtf polar vortex, but the weather in Fandom was just right for welcoming in new people. The bonfire was mostly going for decoration, but there were also the makings for s'mores among the food offerings.

Mmmm, summer food.

The food was ready, the tables and chairs had been spread across the lawn with just the right amount of glitter on them, and everything was ready to welcome a new batch of folks to the island!

[OCD is coming! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Sabine had also gone the sign route, since it was eye catching enough to have worked before. It was graffiti-style with Freya's name on it, and on display as Sabine wandered around trying to look at nametags.

Between the two methods that seemed popular for tracking down the new students, Freya was pleased to see that the person looking for her had chosen the quieter one.

"Hello," she said, approaching the other girl and was immediately intrigued by the art style and the presumed armor, as well as what this was all about. She lifted a paw in a wave. "My name is Freya. Are you looking for me?"

"I am!" Sabine told her with a smile, lowering the sign. "I'm Sabine. I'm your appointed big sibling."

"Big sibling?" asked Freya, her head tilting, interested to pick up another tidbit of this place's seemlingly nuanced and structured culture. It seemed a bit rooted in certain traditions, which was something at a Burmecian such as herself could appreciate.

Even if a Burmecian such as herself had taken to breaking a few of those traditions.

...there were several, yes, to the point that Freya wasn't sure where to start, but, after a nod and a moment to consider it, tail languidly swishing behind her all the while, she figured she thought of one that might covered a few of them all in one go.

"Have you seen any other Burmecians such as myself around here?" she ventured. "The Dean of Students did not seem to know of anyone, but I'm looking for someone, you see, and I'm rather hoping this whole mysterious journey here might be some sort of step in the right direction, but I'm beginning to have my doubts."

"I haven't," Sabine admitted. "This is kind of a... multidimensional hub? We see people from all sorts of places, but you're the first Burmecian I've met."

Freya's shoulders squared in the attempt to shrug off the weight of disappointment, her chin lifting in resolve.

"I see," she said, and gave Sabine a smile meant to convey hope. "I suppose it was an unlikely hope, but there must be some reason I've been lead here. The Dean of Students also suggested perhaps he may arrive at a later date, so what is just a few more days of patience after nearly a year?"
