[unusual_sith]

When Lana got in today, the books were clustered in a group at one end of an aisle. Periodically one of them would hurl itself down the aisle as two others flapped in front of it, and the rest would flap their pages and slam their covers to make as much noise as possible.

She thought of interrupting them, but in the end just reminded them that Force healing didn't work on paper, and if they injured themselves, they'd have the librarian to answer to.

Then she sat behind the desk and read the HoloNet from home.

"Trying to keep people on their toes, obviously," Sabine said, glaring in the vague direction of the books before holding out the other coffee. "In case you need it today."

"I'll never turn down a coffee." Lana smiled and took it. "Thank you. How was your week?"

"More typical," she said slowly. "How was yours?"

"Much the same, thankfully," Lana said, rolling her eyes. "Not that last week was bad, but...well, it was really a bit much, wasn't it?"

"That's one way to put it," Sabine said, and paused, maybe a half second too long. "Should we talk about it?"

"If you want to," Lana answered hesitantly. "I'm not sorry it happened unless you are."

"I'm definitely not sorry," Sabine said quickly. "But we should probably make sure we're on the same page now that our heads are clear."

Sabine had approximately one (1) day before she was descended upon by Nina. And possibly made to consider some things, again.

Lana nodded. "That's probably a good idea."

She chewed her lip for a moment. "I'd like to go on more dates with you. And maybe work up to the rest more slowly. You?"

"I'd be good with that," Sabine said, smiling. "Slow is probably good."

Maybe she could ease into being less of a very private mess of issues?

Lana smiled back, relieved. "Slow is definitely good." Hey, 'passion' didn't preclude going slow! "This is where I confess I've no idea how to arrange the whole 'dating' thing, though. Do we plan ahead for the things, or just decide when we feel like it?"

"I'm the wrong person to ask," Sabine admitted. She'd gone from the Academy straight into bounty hunting into Fandom, so traditional dating hadn't really been an option. Or on her radar. "I think it goes however we want."

"In that case," Lana said, "why don't we plan something?" She thought about it. "Another museum visit, maybe? It's been a while since we did that."

"I like it." And those honestly might have been kind of date-like? "Name the day."

[unusual_sith]

"Um." And there went Lana blanking. "Some time this week? After class or on a day we haven't got them? I'm free entirely on Wednesdays."

"I can do Wednesday. Once I've put some hats on birds, of course."

She did like being able to say that, actually.

"How is that class?" Lana asked. "Is it as ridiculous as it sounds?"

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Not only is it ridiculous, but there's a decent chance the teacher gets eaten by the end of the semester," Sabine nodded.

[unusual_sith]

"As long as he doesn't get anyone else eaten, he's got nobody but himself to blame," Lana said.

"Exactly. I bring my helmet to class, though. Just in case."

There would be no death by murder bird.
