Bad Ass Bitch Life Lessons; Wednesday, First Period [01/29].
The projector was there and ready to go when class got started, but it wasn't on yet, because they had other stuff to cover first and it made way more narrative sense to put that all in the OCD today than in the main post. So Rosa was just leaning on the desk a little as she waited for everyone to get settled in, and then she got started.
"So," she said. "Last week, you were all told to go out and learn something new for yourselves, and before we get into our next bright glowing gem of wisdom, you're going to share with the class what you learned. Easy, right? Who's going first? Throatpuncher? Farmer's Almanac? Punctuation?"
Someone should, anyway. Rosa was hoping at least few of these were going to be pretty good.

What did you learn? - BABLL, 01/29.
Especially considering how she had already labeled everyone who did learn something new for this week a total nerd.

Instead, what she was going to say was, "Do you find you have to tase birds often?"
And she actually even meant the question genuinely, because, yes, she wanted to know more and quite possibly, could she get one?
Pigeons in Brooklyn were assholes, okay?

And, to prove it, he even strummed a few notes.
Today's Lesson - BABLL, 01/29.
"Alright," she said, "here goes this week's lesson."
She turned it on, and across the board was another comic that was just as much news to Rosa as it was to her students:
It's the only way you'll get any peace and quiet."
And Rosa may have just snorted, slightly.
"You know what?" she said, after a moment. "That's pretty true. Do your own thing. Screw everyone else. They're just loud and obnoxious and dumb, anyway. And you know what? We're gonna do that. Hope you brought your coats," she herself was already moving to grab hers draped over the desk's chair, "and some comfortable shoes, because we're now going for a hike in the preserve."
Take a Hike - BABLL, 01/29.
Hey, at least it's actually not that cold and you're not trudging through snow? Or still sitting in a classroom trying to make life lessons out of a stupid boomer comic.
Either way, they were out there now, and Rosa gestured. "So you read the old lady," she said. "Go blaze your own trail. Don't get lost or eaten by teal deer. If you're not back here by the end of class, I'll send some troopers out to find you, or something."

Or Don't! - BABLL, 01/29.
Those students would be the real winners here.
Actually, no, the real winners were probably the ones who didn't bother showing up for this dumb class at all.
