Okay, yeah, at this point? Liam and Verity were more or less resigned not only to the fact that their class was yet again going to be in the Danger Shop, but that it was probably going to mess with their program yet again.

Still, they were going to try.

"Today's topic? Mini-golf," Liam announced. "And yes, we realize that technically speaking, mini-golf isn't actually a sport, and that we totally could have programmed a full-scale golf course in here, but," he shrugged and made a face. "Real golf is boring and golf courses are a blight on the face of the Earth, so we're not encouraging that."

Verity couldn't help but give him a fond smile at that. Because golf was the goddamned worst. "So we're playing mini-golf, which is different by actually being somewhat fun and also a much smaller course, as opposed to taking up valuable real estate which could be used for conservation - or literally anything beyond rich people's personal playgrounds."

Not that your teachers had opinions or anything.

"Like golf, the point of mini-golf is to use a putt to hit your ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible. Unlike golf, however, mini-golf offers obstacles to try to swing around, rather than just interrupting a long walk through grass."

"Like windmills," Liam offered. "Or creepy clown faces, or startlingly accurate scale replicas of famous landmarks… anyway, you get the point."

"So, grab a putt, choose the ball colors you want, and get yourself to the first hole," Verity said, starting the simulation. "Lowest score wins."

Let's see how long it would last before the Danger Shop did something completely different, eh?

Honestly, they're not sure how to take this. Mini-golf stayed mini-golf, but Christmas in October was just an insult.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!" Nina said since, hey, apologies were no reason to not be cheerful and happy. "Um, like, I just wanted to apologize for missing the last two weeks of classes???????????????? And then, like, there was vacation, so…………"

Nina shrugged a little and did her best (which was very good) to look winsome.

Verity wasn't falling for the winsome, mostly because she'd spent a lot of her life projecting a very similar expression.

But she didn't look particularly upset, either. "The island's been a lot lately," she agreed. "Anything specific going on that you wanna talk about...?"

"Bus Dean, like, already gave me a lecture about camping where the monsters could get me," Nina mused, "though he took it pretty well, all things considered............"

He really had!

"So, like, I guess it's more of a 'did I miss anything important here'??????????????"

"The week before vacation, we decided it would be mean to make everyone do gym in a body they weren't used to," Verity said wryly. "And the week before that, we had planned to have class outside, where nothing could change on us, but then it rained food."

It was like the island had planned that or something.

"...Safe to say, you haven't missed anything. But if you wanna do a few laps around the course to make up for it...?"

She was teasing.
