Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
The weather was warm, the food smelled good, and there was a good chance the new folks were a little extra glittery. What else could go into a perfect day for the picnic?
[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Mostly because Nina hadn't been bitten by one yet.
"Do you want to see, like, the sneaky thing Prompto and Vette and I got up to?????????????????"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Mae had been bitten twice. And still hadn't learned her lesson.
"Do I!" Mae clapped. "Show it! Show it!"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Nina fished out her phone.
"Okay, so like, the newbie shuttle was here!!!!!!!!!!!! Which meant it had to be made perfect for everyone so they got to really enjoy what the island was all about????????????? Which took, like, a ton of work but............... here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It was very, very covered in seriously too many to count incredibly glittery origami cranes, flowers, frogs, and more.
"We, like, did the inside too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
"Oh my god you made the sparklebus a pollenbus." Mae had kind of loved her sparklebus introduction to Fandom last winter. "That's so cool!"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Nina was so, so tired. Gluing all of that to the bus had been... an effort. But it had survived being driven on the highway, which was... really, really impressive, honestly.
"We're, like, already plotting how to make it better for next semester!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
“If you need any help, let me know. I’m... only really good at jumping and hitting things but I could totally put stuff on the roof for you?”
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Because of course they had plans for that. Of course they did.
"But, like, the start of semester stuff is something we Diamonds don't really share?????????????????" She looked a little awkward. "Not because you're not totally awesome--because you are--but, like, as a gang thing???????????????????"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
“Oh.” Mae looked down and shrugged. “Yeah, no. That’s fair. I didn’t know you had a gang.”
She suddenly missed Gregg and Casey terribly.

Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
“No, it’s—it’s cool. I’d just be all awkward and intrusive or whatever.” She dredged up a smile again. “So. Diamonds, huh? Do you guys have matching tattoos?”
She was basically picturing a biker gang.
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
"No tattoos," she said, with a delicate shudder. "But, like, we're going to get patches??????????" At some point? "It's just, like, Vette and Prompto and I and we're the Drama Diamonds because like, we're unbreakable.............."
And also very, very full of drama. Which. Yes.
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
“And dramatic?” Mae guessed. She didn’t actually see Vette as all that dramatic, but hey. She and Vette had similar energies sometimes, and the reasons for Mae’s weren’t NOT dramatic. “Just don’t start roughing people up for lunch money.”
Gangs in Possum Springs started young.
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Nina glanced around the picnic, picking out both Prompto and Vette.
"I guess, like, to make sure that we know we're important to each other???????????????????"
Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Yeah, that did not help Mae with her sudden onset homesickness.
“That’s awesome,” she said, managing a small amount of enthusiasm. “Everyone should have a group like that.”
Somewhere, Gregg and Casey were playing knife-fight without her.

Re: General Mingling [Fall 2019]
Mae nodded quickly. “I’m fine. I just. Miss my friends back home, I guess.”
