Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The weather was warm, the food smelled good, and there was a good chance the new folks were a little extra glittery. What else could go into a perfect day for the picnic?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Vette just gave a cheerful little hum as she pulled out her phone and showed off the holographic evidence of their origami crimes.

She was so proud of herself.

And rightly so!

Lana put a hand over her mouth and tried to stifle her laughter. "Oh, that's...that is definitely something. That must have taken forever!"

"Well, we had a lot of them in strings so all we had to do was glue them on," Vette explained. "And Prompto did a lot of the folding at work in between all of that really important puppy-cuddling he has to do every day. So it wasn't all that bad, really."

"That's commitment," Lana said, still snickering. "Who was driving the bus today?"

"That would be the Dean," Vette replied proudly. "I bet he's gonna love it."

Where 'love' was code for 'hate.'

"Oh, Force!" Lana was equal parts impressed and appalled. "I'd offer to let you hide behind me, but I don't think that would do much good."

"Naaaah, I've got this handled," Vette said confidently. Because really, after 'Anakin the inflatable pool toy,' she was reasonably certain she could get away with murder. "But thanks!"

"You're insane, you do know that?" Lana was shaking her head and grinning. "Certifiably insane."

"He's a Jedi," Vette chirped. "Murdering me over some pretty paper is probably against their rules, right?"

She was reasonably certain. Besides, she was great. Who would want her dead ~~Vaylin~~ anyway?

"You're talking to the wrong person about Jedi morals," Lana said dryly. "Though the Dean didn't kill me immediately, so that speaks in his favour."

"If he had, I totally would've stolen his wheels," Vette decided.

Yes, the wheels. Not just the tires. Probably axel and all.

"I appreciate the backup," Lana said, grinning. "I'm worth wheels, then?"

"At least three of the four," Vette agreed, smiling brightly.

Your friend was a menace, Lana.

"Only three?" Lana asked in mock outrage. "See if I ever float you again."

"After I steal three of his wheels, I betcha Skywalker will anyway," Vette mused.

But that wasn't a good thing, Vette.

"Not in a good way," Lana pointed out. "And it'd be more work."

"To take three and leave one behind? You bet it would," Vette agreed. "Which is why I'd take three, silly. Because anyone can take four wheels, but it takes gumption to take three."

And Vette certainly had that. Even when she made no reasonable sense at all.

Lana laughed. "All right, I suppose I'll accept being worth only three, then."

She reached out and lifted Vette a few inches off the ground.

And that was Vette, making a merry little, "Eeee," sound, throwing her arms into the air.

This. Was. THE BEST.

You were so strange, Vette. Adorable, but strange. Lana lifted her up a little more and swooped her from side to side.
