Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The weather was warm, the food smelled good, and there was a good chance the new folks were a little extra glittery. What else could go into a perfect day for the picnic?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"I'm not," Summer confirmed, sounding a little wistful about it, but she was trying not to dwell, "but I'm sure you'll think of something. If anything, I'm sure you could talk to Nina and she'd throw together a turnip and a week old fish and come out with some great banana bread for you."

Seriously, Nina. What the fuck.

"Or," she offered, "you could always take up the torch, Shuri. Carry on my tradition in my absense. Let the legacy live on."

"Where are you going?" Shuri asked, looking a little distressed.

Summer's class had been a comforting bit of weirdness in a very unsettling summer.

See, and Summer thought maybe she picked up on a little of that distress in Shuri's expression, but she was pretty sure she must have imagined it because there was no way her dumb little classes could have left that sort of impression on anyone.

"Off to unleash those culinary horrors on a whole new galaxy," she said wryly. "And here's the real kicker: they actually seem to like this stuff out there, too."
