Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
The island was still thankfully, blissfully normal, so fingers were crossed that the picnic would go off without a hitch.
The weather was pleasant enough - sunny, but not so hot that people would melt outside - and all the decorations had been safely pulled out of storage. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and yellow balloons, a table for all the information the new students would need, and enough food to probably feed two islands. It was time to welcome some new folks, everyone!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"Are there?" Mae asked. "Or are they actually one big forest and we can't see how it's connected together?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"I guess I never thought about that before? So maybe it's possible?"
To be fair, forests weren't really a top-of-mind topic for Kuroko.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
See, that was exactly the sort of attitude that got you eaten by bears.
Mae nodded like she was at all wise (she was not). "Right, so. Um. Do you have any questions about, like. The school or something?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Kuroko wasn't exactly complaining, but it was weird.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
“Nowhere!” Mae said, sounding VERY pleased. “I mean. I think you can do independent studies if you want, but you totally don’t have to.”
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
“Understanding ones?”
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"I guess coming from a place called 'Academic City' this place might be kind of an . . . adjustment."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Kuroko shrugged.
"It's a good thing I'm adaptable."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"That is good! Because otherwise it's possible Fandom will make your brain explode."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"I do want to avoid having that happen."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
It almost wasn't!
"I recommend it. Um. Let's see. Is there anything I'm missing?"
Most of Fandom life.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
The idea that there was more to be aware of was more than a bit concerning.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"Oh yeah, I mean, Fandom is a lot. But it can also be really fun. And the roofs are great for running around on."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
". . . Mostly that there's a lot of them. And they're pretty close together. Makes jumping from one to the other easier."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"Have you ever been in a big city before?" she asked abruptly. Because if Mae thought of these as "a lot" and "close together", she had to wonder.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Mae shrugged. "Sure, sometimes." Big city roofs weren't as much fun! They were too tall to scale up to easily and usually full of weird crap or security guards who yelled at you for trespassing.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"But you prefer it here, hm?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"I think I am more of a small town girl at heart."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Fall 2019]
"Not so much." Mae shrugged. "I'm not sure Possum Springs is really that typical either, though. I don't know what a typical small town is supposed to look like."
