Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The island was still thankfully, blissfully normal, so fingers were crossed that the picnic would go off without a hitch.

The weather was pleasant enough - sunny, but not so hot that people would melt outside - and all the decorations had been safely pulled out of storage. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and yellow balloons, a table for all the information the new students would need, and enough food to probably feed two islands. It was time to welcome some new folks, everyone!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Karolina's nose wrinkled. "I heard about that," she said. "Beau and me, we weren't here for that. We were road tripping in California."

Which she felt vaguely guilty about, despite that not having been the absolute worst Fandom could've thrown at people.

"Wasn't a choice, more like a coincidence," Karolina replied, shrugging. "I like being where I can maybe help people."

"That's fair. It just wasn't... the greatest. Brainwashing," Tony said, putting all the meaning he could into that word.

They had that whole 'similar worlds' thing going on, so it probably wasn't a surprise that she pulled an empathetic face like someone who'd run into that kind of trouble elsewhere, too.

"You'd think the island could've gone a little easier, what with the summer we had even before that week."
