If Rosa was a nicer person, a more considerate, sympathetic soul, she might have realized that perhaps everyone on the island would have had enough of ridiculous platformer conventions and challenges and could use a break by the time Friday rolled around. But if Rosa was nicer and more considerate, she wouldn't be Rosa now, would she? Suck it up. It was good for you.

Plus, she was pretty sure there was at least a handful of you weirdos (teachers included) that were still eating this crap up.

So when they all got to the danger shop, they'd find she'd set it up a little differently from the usual arena. There were two towering walls with a series of tilted rebar platforms and ladders and barrels. And fireballs. Because why not?

"Alright, guys," she said. "Time for a little climbing obstacle course race. Try to think of this week as practice for this moment right here. Whichever team gets all their members to the top first wins. Once you do get to the top, you'll be sent over to the top of the opposing team's tower, where you can start throwing barrels to impede their progress. Since the," ugh, "students won last time, they have an advantage this week. I got Fosse to start us out with the barrel-tossing on the top of the teacher's side. And, you guys, this guy cleans our offices. He's not going to make this easy.

"If there aren't any questions....get up and let's get started."

You avoid obstacles and climb up ladders. How hard can it be?

When you're talking 16-bit graphics and early video game logic...very hard, apparently.

Although, truthfully, entirely moddable. Help each other out, go it all your own, powers are completely useable, but they might not quite work the way you expect them to due to the limited capabilities and sometimes baffling ways the 'game' seems to be rigged against you. And once you've completely the course, you then can make things tricky for the other team by throwing barrels at them on their way up.

Which means the Teachers get everyone to the top first, but just barely, but they still win this one. Meanwhile, go hog wild with the deets on how everyone actually get there.

You know what was really difficult? Managing to jump over barrels when you were about as tall as the space between platforms. Leviathan was definitely feeling his height was a significant disadvantage the first few times he tried leaping over a rolling barrel only to just hit his head and his feet at the same time and be sent back to the bottom.

This was likely going to call for some strategic timing and utilization of conveniently placed ladders, it would seem! Which meant that it would likely not get him to the top very quickly, but it was better than not getting to the top at all!

It turned out that, at one point, the Hammer had found an actual hammer on the course, but, considering how it apparently rendered you without much control and a more difficult time jumping, she dismissed it pretty quickly as a potential strategy. Honestly, it was just easier for Amaya to jump, hold onto the ledges, and pull herself up.

What? She was even more particular about never skipping arm day as she was about never skipping leg day. She had incredible upper body strength, okay? Best put it to use, and considered she was the second on her team to make it to the top, she felt pretty damn good about it, too.

Vette was small, and Vette was quick, and Vette... was reasonably certain that she was born for weird situations like this, for whatever reason.

Sure, the barrels were new, but she'd had way weirder stuff thrown at her in her time as a pirate.

Arr!

So, on the one hand, apparently Kanan was a little bit distracted today, wondering if he'd get a check-in from Rey this week.

Aaaand on the other hand, that didn't stop him from having Jedi reflexes when a barrel came careening his way. So while he was kind of taking his time getting to the top, he was also occasionally just spinning on his heel in order to smack the hell out of the barrels that Fosse was throwing his way.

With his tail.

... Okay, so it was handy, apparently.

You know how there was always that one kid, who, no matter what, would always seem to get stuck on the same spot in a level and, instead of changing what they did to get past it, just kept doing the exact same thing, only just more aggressive with more button mashing?

Yeah.

That was Exterminator right now.

"What the fuck?" she, who never really cared much for maintaining teacher voice anyway, shouted, when she was booted back to the start for about the sixth time. "I made you and I can destroy you!"

Clearly, Exterminator, you couldn't, but, sure. Shouting at it was really going to help you get to the top of the level, right?

Miguel was really a bit put out.

He was supposed to have talons, but he barely even had toes today! It was ridiculously hard to run like this. And he could shoot out webs, but they had a tendency to miss by just that much. Grr.

Honestly, one of these days, the island wouldn't be against him. Until then...well, at least he beat Rosa, so she couldn't rag on him too much.

The teacheriest teacher of the class might not be very up to talking if it has anything to do with her performance today, though.
