Was Anakin using his pixelated little lightsaber to take out flying fish while everyone arrived in the park?

Of course he was!

Was he taking the fact that flying fish showed up on his class day a little personally? Well, Anakin. So also yes.

Were there weird blocks to jump on, strange question marks floating in the air and wandering free-moving flying duck-mushrooms? Absolutely. This week was weird, everyone.

"So we're just going to...go with what the island has given us," Anakin said into the megaphone, "including weird floating pieces of rebar you can jump on! We're going to do this...obstacle course level around the park in teams of four," because everything was about teams, of course, "and the first team through wins!"

He paused to jump on top of a giant flying fish, which...made it smaller. "Watch out for the fish. Listen for your names!"

And get your colored t-shirts, of course!

Watch out for the fish.

Nina was not having the best of fun being from a videogame ~~lol~~ and thought she looked weird and it was strange being like this and it was really hard to work when she was like this…

So she'd, like, totally forgotten to sign up for the whole shenanigans thing.

Now that she was out and about to watch it? She was totally sorry she wasn't involved.

But she was also taking the time to record video of Prompto's squad running the obstacle course and overlay that video with a song that Google swore was a video game~~Mario~~-ish song and sending it to his boys. Partly because she didn't want them to forget about her.

But also partly because, well, this was real life. They liked videogames! They had to see this!

And the text: Yes, this is reality as we know it right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nina, like, wasn't sure if they'd believe her, but that wasn't the point.

"I see you with that phone, Nina!" Prompto shouted at her at some point; he had a good amount of down time before his turn, anyway. "And I know what you're doing!"

It was neither an approval nor a disapproval, really. He just wanted her to know that he knew, dammit!

"I'm just doing my civic duty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she shouted back, following that with a bout of mad giggling.

The colors aren't terrible, the names...pretty much are.

"On the bright," HA!, "side," said Amaya, who flinched as she received her shirt and covered her eyes, "we'll have an advantage when the other teams are blinded just by looking at us in these things..."

It. Was. So. Bright! And she was bracing herself to be rendered deaf as well as blinded the moment Summer got her hands on hers, because this was definitely in her color wheelhouse.

"... I keep gettin' stuck in this color."

Don't sweat it, Fjordie. The pink really did go well with your everything.

"Ohmygod," said Summer, clinging to her shirt for a moment because, yeah, Amaya definitely managed to call that one, though she was keeping herself under control with the squealing, thank you very much, and she was maybe giving Fjord a faintly sympathetic look because, yeah, yeah, that was definitely going to be...a lot going on over there, "it's perfect."

Once she was finished beaming over it and pulling it on over her now seemingly sadly faded but equally pink tank top, she glanced over her team. Good team. Solid team. This was promising.

"So, how are we doing this?" she asked. "Do we just go in the order we were called or do we want to try to be more...strategic about it?"

"Well," Lana muttered, "at least it's not blue."

Kanan pulled on his... reddish shirt, and sighed.

After all, he was pulling it on over the raccoon suit.

"This is definitely a look."

"Nice tail," Shuri told him, grinning.

"I've been stuck with it since Monday," Kanan sighed, and one of his cute fuzzy ears flicked a little in annoyance.

He had his pride, though. He wasn't going to get himself get bested by a mushroom to make it go away.

"It's adorable," Shuri said.

That's what he was going for, right?

And here was Wayne, pulling it over his flannel dutifully, and just feeling glad he'd worn blue today instead of green, which would have made him look like a goddamn fucking Christmas present.

"Better'n some of the last ones," he noted in a murmur, looking down at it once it was settled into place, "there is at least that."

"It's not a romper," Kanan agreed. "I'll take it."

"That romper, and I say this as someone not having to wear it, was amazing," Shuri said.

"Hard no," Wayne insisted gruffly, shoulders squaring all that much. "And I say that as someone also not having to wear it."

Because he'd absolutely refused.

"But," he offered, a bit softer now, though he shook his head with the lingering disapproval "if you were such a fan, Shuri, I'm sure Prompto could spare one fer ya. He took pert'near all of 'em"

Weird fucking skid.

Shuri was side-eyeing Prompto so hard right now. "No, I'm good. But my brother may get one for the holidays this year."

T'Challa would be thrilled.

"It's okay," Kitty told him. "You get to use that tail for good today!"

She was here for shenanigans today.

"Is it cheating if I just fly over the course? It might be cheating if I just fly over the course, Kitty."

And not half as fun as jumping on fish, anyway.

This island was hell-bent on making Kanan hate fish.

"I think if you can fly over the cottage and no one yells at you, then you're good."

She sometimes headmistressed a school.

"Meep meep meep," Beaker said, putting his shirt on over his labcoat. "Meep meep MEEEEEEP," he added, flailing at a flying fish.

"Hey, Beaker," said Rosa, lifting her chin after taking a moment to make sure he was just flailing and that he was fine and to do a quick assessment of her team and feeling...not the most confident about it. Sabine, she knew was completely competent, no worries there. And herself, too, obviously. But Beaker was just a big wild card and she did not have a good feeling about whoever this new guy was.

"Do you think it would be cheating if you just grabbed onto one of those fish and held on the whole time through the course?"

That very reasonably suspect new guy just so happened to look a little stricken right now...as much as his pixel-rendered face would allow, anyway. He felt a bit lied to, if he was honest, since Summer-chan had told him that not all of these were like the scavenger hunt last week, and she was right, he supposed, but this seemed like even more work than that had been.

"Can we all just try that?" he asked, but it didn't take long before his stricken expression went for something a bit more suave after looking Rosa over a bit. "Or," he offered, leaning in Rosa's way, "we could just leave this all to the kids and find something better to do with our time ♥."

"Meep meep meep," Beaker said, judgmentally.

"Yeah," said Rosa, "what he said."

She had no idea what Beaker had said. But it sounded judgey...even if a whole lot nicer than what Rosa was going to say.

"But we're wasting time," she said crossly. "Blackstone's been kicking my butt up and down the park all this summer, so we've really got to get it together for this one, you guys."

By 'you guys,' she clearly meant herself and Sabine, because...

...shit.

She should just go congratulate Blackstone for beating her again now, shouldn't she?

"What does 'Seafrosted Pea' even mean?" Ben asked, staring in mild horror at his t-shirt.

"I am not quite sure," Sidon offered, oh-so-helpfully, already in his shirt and squaring his shoulders proudly; it was a little worrisome, really, how much he was looking forward to actually wearing clothes for these things each week, "but I like it! Anything involved with the sea is fine by me! A seafrosted pea sounds like it could be quite delicious, actually!"

"It's not too bad," Prompto said, chuckling as he offered Ben the sympathetic look that he was definitely not going to be getting from big shark daddy over there. "I mean, I'm not even in the least bit tempted to grab three more of them so I can send them to my friends this time or anything. Skywalker's going easy on us this week, I think."

"Not sure Team 'Intense Bottom' would agree," Ben muttered, "but hey, that's not us!"

"That is a rather unfortunate name," agreed Sidon, sounding remorseful and sympathetic as he glanced toward that team. "But perhaps they may still manage to rise above the adversity of being given a name that all but guarantees them to be at the bottom of the competition!"

...because, yes, Sidon. That was totally what made the name unfortunate.

But, hey, this was the guy who went and gave a positive spin on being Team Urine, so...

Oh, Sidon, you adorable snowflake. Ben was not explaining any other meaning to you. "Bottoms are tops, maybe?" he offered, grinning.

"This, apparently." It wasn't a bad color on Hera, though, so she just shrugged and pulled it on.

"I've worn worse this summer," Ben declared.

Go through the obstacle course!

Right. Hera could do this! She was the fastest, best pilot around!

She could totally do this in a ship. On her own...hey, she felt she made a pretty good showing of it. She grabbed a fish, kicked it to avoid getting bitten, then dove for the next one.

Jumping around should be simple! Lana had the Force on her side!

...and consequently overshot the third fish, ended on the ground, and had to make her way, grumbling, back to the start to try again.

Shuri did try, but there were so many fish and they were so fun to jump on and sometimes they gave money and then she jumped on a duck-turtle and it hit another duck-turtle and then she just had to replicate that For Science and...well...sorry, Team Absolutely Super. She wasn't super fast.

Kitty, who'd grown up on video games and who had been having way too much fun with this week so far, was prepared for this. Did it help that she could airwalk normally and hopping on things felt totally natural? Yep!

Anyway, this girl was killing it on her turn.

Sabine was doing pretty good and going fast, and then there was one particular fish that she couldn't get past. Okay, fine. She just had to get a mushroom before getting to it, then.

Which apparently was easier said than done!

Ben would have been amazingly astral at this round except for how Kitty was so much better, but he still kept up with her as well as he could, with Seafrosted Pea squeaking into second.

And the anchor round!

The RNG declares the winners to be Team Absolutely Super, followed by Team Rock Ladies Rosehip, Team Seafrosted Pea and Team Intense Bottom.

Well, Team Intense Bottom couldn't have really expected anything else, right?

Beaker tried to jump on a fish that was easily his size and got flown off to...somewhere.

He'll probably be just fine!

Sorry for the delays. Two year old escaped her playroom and was wreaking havoc...

I'm gonna be over here dying laughing inappropriately at "intense bottom."

And now I can write a sentence with "Beaker" and "intense bottom" both in it and go RIGHT to hell!
