Fandom Gladiators Part DEUX! - First Period, Friday, 7/12.

Because smoke-filled skies during the day and creepy-ass nightmare fuel during the night wasn't disorientating enough, Rosa decided this week might be a good week to debut the Sky Track. So when the gladiators entered the Arena that day, they'd find a sort of race track set up for them. Only it was on the ceiling. And upside down.

Of course, esepcially considering the proclivities of certain people to be able to just hang from stuff like it's no problem, upside down racing seemed just a little bit too simple, so Rosa had added another element on the ground, because flanking the whole course were several little turret stations with some guns that might look familiar to those who were in the class last semester.

"This," Rosa announced, "is the Sky Track. It's an upside down racetrack that you'll be harnessed into and have to race each other while upside down. Easy, right?" Well, for some of you, Spider-Man.

"I've broken everyone down into heats; you'll race each other, and then the winners will go up against each other tournament style until there's only one person standing. To make things more interesting, when you're not racing, if you'd like, you can man one of these turret stations and try to make things a little more interesting for our racer by shooting either foam balls at them or water; there are guns that shoot both. Use these weapons to try to impede your competition or help out your allies. Just remember, kids, we totally kicked your butts last week," granted, there had been quite a few more teachers than students due to, you know, dumb labyrinth stuff. "You think you can handle it if we do it again this time around?"

Because, spoiler alert: they totally would.

Sidon was discovering that swimming upside down and crawling/running upside down were not even remotely similiar, and then there might have been at least a brief moment of discomfort in realizing that the way he needed to move in this harness against this track was a bit too similar to how he'd sometimes lope around as a monster a few weeks ago, but he quickly banished that from his mind, figured out a good approach to it, and managed to find his stride.

It might have been a bit too late, though, even if he could cover quite a bit of distance rather quickly thanks to his size, though he was pretty sure, since this was the danger shop, those straining creaks he thought he heard from the apparatus were just put in to make him and his competitors feel nervous about the structure's ability to hold his weight. But why would Detective Diaz do something like that??

Anakin was moving slowly in part because of the Force migraine the island was giving him and mostly also because he was pretty sure whoever was manning that water cannon was aiming directly at his hair and that was just NOT ON.

Ugh. This class was the worst.

Okay, so Miguel was trying to be good. He strapped himself into a stupid contraption he didn't need, just to be fair.

And wound up fighting the damn thing most of the time. He scowled. "Next time, shock 'fair'," he muttered.

You know, with all the crazy going on around the island, Kanan's training really hadn't been as up to snuff as it could have been. And so you had better believe that a certain Spectre was throwing himself into this one with the same sort of focus he put into his meditation exercises and lightsaber training. Because you never knew when this sort of thing would be useful, really, did you?

A little bit of being upside-down was nothing.

Right, so Shuri knew she should be racing. She was just...distracted by the cool engineering, okay?

This was so neat and she could think of a thousand ways to inflict this on T'Challa under the guise of Black Panther training.

Ahahaha her brother was toast.

Okay, so, Vette was really great at getting places she wasn't meant to be and all, but running across ceilings was not really her whole deal. Need her to squeeze through some ventilation shafts? Sure!

But suspend her from a ceiling racetrack, and what you had was a girl who could barely reach the handholds half the time and who wasn't terribly thrilled about that. UGH.

The Hammer....knew this was the danger shop, and therefor all a simulation that could just do things as programmed, but the Hammer was also hanging upside down in a contraption on a race track on the ceiling and it was utterly fascinating, and she was trying to see if there actually were legitimate specs on how this thing was designed and how difficult it would be to rig up something like this in real life, and it really seemed like pretty easy mehcanics after all, she could absolutely put something like this together, it would be a cinch--

---oh, right! She was supposed to actually be racing in this thing! So Amaya got a little bit of a late start in all of this, and she discovered she wasn't much of an upside-down racer, either. Seems her mind was going all the racing today, with all the ideas already starting to flood in.
