Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday, July 10

"So the weather outside is horrible again," Anakin yelled through the bullhorn in the gymnasium, "so I am simultaneosly impressed and worried about those of you who still came out to do this thing."

He clapped his hands together. "So we're going to do a fun game called pass the parcel today! It's a little like musical chairs in that there's a chair and involved, but also presents! You'll love it."

This was a dubious claim.

"Listen for your name and then come pick up a t-shirt--" all in matching shades of day-glo blue "--with your number on it, and sit in a circle in the correct numeric order."

Don't make him fix that for you, gang.

"Once everyone is seated, the music will start and you will pass the package to the right as quickly as possible until the music stops. If it stops on you, you unwrap a layer before the music begins again. There will also be a fun question or game for you to participate in."

Well, fun if you were the audience, anyway. Anakin made the bullhorn do that annoying siren noise. "Let's get ready!"

Fjord did not enjoy the creepy things outside, no.

Wasn't stopping him from staying up late to kill the shit out of them. But that didn't mean he liked 'em. So he was maybe a bit tired today as he showed up for this thing, but whatever, couldn't be helped.

Fjord maybe had a tiny addiction to adventure that ran against little things like 'sanity' and 'better judgment.'

Prompto, as someone else who very much did not enjoy the creepy things outside at night because he really didn't appreciate the fact that one of his worst fears in the entire world that wasn't a thing here now was, was very eager for any distraction that might come in hand to let him not think about the fact that Fandom Island was now pretty much Eos outside of protected areas like Insomnia right now.

And he was also hoping he could distract himself from the little nagging voice in the back of his head reminding him that, look, facing daemons in the dark was pretty much what he'd have to do some day. Staying inside and hiding out from it wasn't doing anything good for him, not when this could be potential invaluable experience...

...terrifying, horrible, insane experience, but invaluable, nonetheless...

So, the thing about wearing a shade of blue that bright while being a rather vivid shade of green oneself was that reflected light kinda made you look a little on the teal side.

"... Well, ain't I just pretty," Fjord mumbled, picking at the bottom of his shirt and raising an eyebrow.

"I do rather wonder," said Sidon, pulling his shirt carefully over his head and pulling it down to admire how the fit always seemed to somehow magically work for him, as he carefully pulled his cravat out of the neckhole and patted it stylishly into place, "if by the end of this summer, I might actually grow accoustomed to wearing these things!"

It was highly unlikely, of course, he knew that, but it was rather amusing to think about.

"Fourteen! What a fantastic number!"

First Stop: Contestant #9

"Recite your favorite song lyrics while unwrapping!" Anakin commanded.

Her reward for her toil? A small box of crayons.

"Say something nice about someone sitting across from you in the circle," Anakin told Fjord. "Then unwrap."

It was possible that Anakin had been spending way too much time at children's birthday parties.

Fjord would get a blinky ring for his trouble, which Anakin had definitely liberated from the children's party.

Third Stop: Contestant #12

"Stand up and spin in a circle," Anakin said, "then sit down and unwrap a layer."

As the layers were removed, there was definitely a ticking noise to hear now.

Peter would get a bag of M&Ms. Maybe he could trade it?

Fourth Stop: Contestant #8

"Eat this bug," Anakin tried, grinning at Aeryn when the music stopped.

Fifth Stop: Contestant #11

The layer under Aeryn's was made of Jello because Anakin was a capricious and strange man, so hopefully everyone really enjoyed passing that one along until it stopped, hilariously, thanks RNG on Summer.

"Get rid of the Jello without eating it," Anakin told her.

Her reward for this? The bouncy ball that had been suspended in the stuff.

Sixth Stop: Contestant #18

This next layer was made entirely out of tape, but at least the package was getting smaller? The hellish music (doo doo doo doo) stopped on Breq.

"Demonstrate your favorite dance step," Anakin read from his sheet of awful things, "and then unwrap the layer."

The reward was a glow-in-the-dark stick hand--if it could get off of the tape.

Seventh Stop: Contestant #3

The ticking was definitely getting louder and everyone was probably heartily sick of Baby Shark by now, but there were maybe three layers to go?

And Rosa, judging by the music, got to pull of a saran wrap level. But after, "Tell me three ways to disarm an attacker using what is in your desk drawer," Anakin read.

The reward? A dozen happy face stickers.

Eighth Stop: Contestant #2

"Eat this other bug," Anakin said.

This one was chocolate covered, at least, Sabine?

And you'll win a...box full of them?

Ninth Stop: Contestant #10

This layer is made out of tin foil, so it's nice and shiny, but also kind of hard to find a starting point on.

Fortunately, Anakin's there with his list of questions, Amaya!

"Name five of the most annoying things about Fandom that don't include how we keep moving every kriffing week," Anakin said.

She'll get rewarded with a yo-yo! Ooh ahh.
