"Thanks. For my journalism class, I'm going to be looking to Professor Skeeter's writing for inspiration to make my own writing better." Peter somehow managed to say that with a straight face. "Unfortunately, The Daily Prophet doesn't have internet archives, so I was wondering if we might have some stuff from a magical, otherdimensionly newspaper somewhere in the library," Peter explained. "Any help you could give would be great."
"There's a little bit of truth in everything," Peter said. "Like the fact that I've seen the error in my ways when it comes to antagonizing Professor Skeeter."
He lowered his voice briefly. "The main error was not being sneaky enough. But I really am going to be following her style. I'm sure it'll make a impact by the end of the semester." There may have been a wink. "So, can you help me?"
Rory arched one brow. "Yup. Give me a sec to figure out where back issues of the Prophet would be."
She rolled her chair over to the computer and typed in a few keywords. When she got a result, she scribbled it down on a scrap of paper and headed towards the stacks, beckoning Peter along.
"Okay, should be back in here," she mused as she led the way into stacks and stacks of newspapers of all kinds, obviously from various dimensions. "What year are we looking at? Do you know?"
"Through 1995. That's when she left the Prophet," Peter said. "Probably start looking a couple years before that, though. Just so I have a lot of material to work with."
Rory nodded, and crouched to peer at a section of papers.
"Okay," she said, pulling out a full ream of newspapers covered in moving pictures, "these are from '92 and '93. According to the computer, there was a high concentration of writing for dear ol' Rita in '94 and '95, which would be..."
She traced a finger along the shelf, looking for labels, and smiled when she found it. "Right here. And then she quit very suddenly in '95, right?" She smirked. "Or so my sources say."
"My source does, as a matter of fact," Rory grinned. "Though I don't know if Skeeter's from the right time for that, or something, since John kind of hinted at it and she was really confused. And I don't think she's that good an actress."
"Really? That doesn't really change anything, though. She's still earned my respect and interest recently," Peter said. "She's got plenty coming to her and I want to make sure I get shot in."
"A shot at being her favorite student ever, that is."

"Okay, no, seriously," she said, giggling. "We both know that isn't true. Unless you're suddenly delusional."

"Just checking, does your source know how to make monsters grow?"
