Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
As the picnic continued, there were tables and chairs arranged on the lawn, the food smelled delicious and inviting, and no one was going to be bitey without explicit consent. Hopefully, everyone would take some time to enjoy themselves!
[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
... Not like that. But still, he’d take ‘bruised and battered after a day of flinging himself mindlessly at an energy barrier’ over ‘tried to attack people he knew and cared about so he could drink their blood’ any day, thanks.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
She was trying to guess whether a hug would just be cruel, was all.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
“Separated shoulder, I think,” he said, grimacing slightly. It wasn’t as serious as a dislocation, but it still hurt like a bitch in the meantime.
If a hug was an option, though, Octavia was in that small subgroup of people that Liam was loath to turn down an offer of physical affection from, injury or no injury.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
"Which side?"
She could probably avoid jostling it too much. Wasn't like she wasn't used to being mindful of injuries.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
... Also a lesson he technically already knew, but his feral-baby-vampire-self hadn’t had much in the way of reasoning or long-term memory to work with.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
Somewhere within Octavia, there was still some gentle warmth left. It was just primarily reserved for Bellamy to see.
Except sometimes.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
It was nice, having people around who cared about him, and not just what he could do for them. So moments like this, where he got to see some of that gentleness that still existed beneath Octavia's gruff exterior, were something he treasured.
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
Then she pulled back and away again.
Maybe a little bit more open in her facial expression. Softer. "How's Verity?"

Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
She trusted him to be able to tell which part that referred to.
(It was the last part, of course. Octavia was very practical about killing, and in favor of vengeance more often than she wasn't.)
"I just patrolled the island, but I guess it was a pretty contained issue. This time."
Re: General Mingling [Summer 2019]
He'd given Octavia a once-over and hadn't seen any visible injuries, which was somewhat reassuring, at least. "This time," he echoed grimly. He didn't yet know about the nonsense explanation they'd come up on the mainland to explain what had happened, but when he did find out, he would honestly say that he wasn't that surprised.
Humanity was awfully good at turning a blind eye when it suited them to do so.
