Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

As the picnic continued, there were tables and chairs arranged on the lawn, the food smelled delicious and inviting, and no one was going to be bitey without explicit consent. Hopefully, everyone would take some time to enjoy themselves!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

She'd heard about those on Youtube and been kind of horrified. Who invites people over and tells them to bring their own food?

Nina wasn't actually sure what that was either.

"Um, like, I think the school arranges catering???????????????? Or maybe the office staff makes it??????????? I don't... really know what a potluck is, I'm sorry!!!!" she said, with a laugh.

"I don't either," Shuri admitted. "No one has ever asked me to bring my own food to a party."

"Unless, I suppose, like, it was a themed party????????????? Where, like, everyone brings something like a traditional dish from their home?????????? That could be pretty neat, I suppose??????????" Nina beamed at the other girl. "I'm, like, Nina by the way!!!!!!!!!! Nice to meet you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"What ones are you signed up for????????????" Nina asked. "Some of the classes here aren't, really, well... they never would have gotten them at my old school............."

"Those ones might be okay," she said, pulling out her phone to check. "Like, I'm taking both of the philosophy ones, so I suppose I'm not one to talk..........."

Shuri's smile was fond, if annoyed. "Oh, T'Challa loves to annoy me. You'd think he'd have more important things to do."

"I think, like, brothers are meant to annoy their sisters," she offered. "At least, that's what I always gathered!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Not, like, exactly????????????? It's a school, most kids there go home to their families over breaks and for holidays?????????" Except when war got in the way of that, but war ruined everything for everyone. "But, like, since there was nowhere for me to go, I just always stayed there??????????"

So...like an orphanage. Shuri looked very sympathetic because Nakia had told her a little bit about orphanages she'd seen in Nigeria.

"Do you stay here instead now, or go back to that school for holidays?" she asked.

"Mostly I stay here right now," Nina said, shrugging a little. "But, like, sometimes I got visit my friend's homes, when they go back for the holidays!!!!!! That's a lot of fun!!!!!!!!"
