The Art of Honesty, Tuesday 4th Period

Aphra looked far, far too amused for her own good when the class came in.

"So kids, time to tell each other all about your weekends."

Today's lesson was about saving face. Also Aphra being a terrible person.

Sidon also had not had an embarrassing weekend, but, then again, Sidon's perspective on things were sometimes a bit different that others'.

"Well," Sidon offered brightly, without even a bit of hesitation, "I did not actually get back to the island until Saturday morning, which, by the way, Dr. Aphra, I apologize for my absence in this class, but there were very important matters to be attended to back home. My arrival was a little bit confusiong, though, I will admit, because my roommate had been changed into someone else entirely! Which was fine, she is back to herself again, and it was exceptionally nice getting to meet another prince and share with him the marvel that is pizza!

"I was beginning to feel that perhaps the hardworking gnomes at the Portalocity office had made a slight mistake, however, since I seemed to be myself, but I was having a difficult time tracking down others that I'd known. Did they, perhaps, send me through the wrong portal and land me in an entirely different version of Fandom Island that I had not previously attended? That would explain why I could not find my friends and why there were so many new faces! Thankfully, my concerns were calmed by the fact that, though everyone else around us seemed to have changed, my girlfriend Vette was still very much herself as well, leading to a very enthusiastic welcome back, a bit of speculation on the current batch of unusual strangeness, and a newfound determination in my heart that, even when the multiverse goes haywire, she and I are still destined to be together!"

Because that nice little dose of diabetes was just the thing everyone needed that day, right?

"In my search for more friends who might still be themselves and new friends who were old friends who were currently not themselves, I also discovered a Fandom variety of a legendary creature from my homeworld called a Blupee, although this variety did not drop rupees when hit with an arrow; rather, it throws rocks and insults at you instead, but I still had a very enjoyable time meeting this Blupee and getting to know more about him.

"Other than those few instances, though, most of my weekend was simply spent assuring that certain quotas," no, Sidon, dont' wink at that, no one needed you to wink at that, "that I am expected to keep were upheld and made up for in relation to the time I had spent away."

". . . I had a really neat bird companion?" Keyleth offered, because the rest of whoever she'd been the past few days had been a little more hard-nosed and pragmatic than she felt comfortable with. To say nothing of that weird weapon she'd carried that Keyleth didn't even want to figure out.

Not that she'd have a choice about knowing anything about firearms in a few years after they found Percy in that jail cell, thanks a lot, Orthax and the Briarwoods. But anyway.
