"All right, ladies," Rita said. "We're going to start work on one of our big projects this semester. I understand that last semester, you did a largescale project involving an article on a fellow student, yes?"

She smiled. "Your final this term will be similar, but doubled. I want you to interview and profile a good friend. You'll be allowed to leave campus, need to take photos, everything you did last term. And then, as a contrast, you'll need to interview a person you do not know as well, and do the same. This will be expected to be a large, well-done project, which is why I'm telling you so far in advance. Questions?"

Jaye takes a seat.

What? She's totally in this class.

Molly got there shortly after Jaye and sits near by.

Jaye looks around at the so-far empty classroom. "Slackers," she says. And pulls a plastic baggie of microwave popcorn out of her bag, offering some to Molly.

Molly looked around as well. "Totally," she agreed.

"Oh, popcorn," she said and took a few pieces. "Thank you."

That was when Rory walked in.

"This is sad," she said, sliding into her seat.

Jaye offers her popcorn.

Rita grabbed her wand possibly preemptively.

"What?"

"Whoa," John says and holds up his hands. "Honest question. Due date. When's this due? Is one part due before the other?"

"They'll both be due on April 25," Rita said, still holding her wand.

"Can I do some extra credit?"

"Possibly."
