Ballet for Beginners; First Period [01/04].

Back again for another week of ballet. With students who actually seemed like they wanted to learn it, too, even if only out of curiosity and skepticism.

...it was weird and Rosa didn't know what to make of it, but she was pretty sure she didn't like it.

But she was still going to do it. There were portable barres of to the side of the classroom today, so there was a pretty good hint at what they'd be working on today, and the rock music playing was definitely a departure from the standard piano pieces from last week, though kept low so Rosa could be heard over the driving bass and guttural, growling lyrics.

Not that Rosa would ever have a problem projecting her voice when she needed to.

"Today we're doing basic barre work," she informed them, because who needed greetings and preambles? "Find a spot on the floor for warm-up, and you'll bring a barre on the floor so it's easier for everyone to see as I teach you. Alright. Let's go."

Sidon had been momentarily worried about the height of the barres, but it turned out, it worked surprisingly well with the length of his arms relative to the rest of his body. He would just have to be mindful not to put too much of his weight into them, as they didn't look like they were incredibly stable. But he put those concerns out of his mind as he tried to focus on the instructions instead, grateful that they didn't seem too difficult, just...a very strange way to go about moving, really.
