The Art of Honesty, Tuesday 4th Period

Luckily for the class, Aphra seemed less hungover today.

Unluckily for the class, Aphra seemed less hungover today.

"So after careful consideration, I've decided to ease you guys into things," she said. "By leading a discussion on when is it considered not just not not wrong to lie, but good, or even desirable. The one that crops up the most is usually called tact." Something Aphra was mostly familiar with in its absence.

"See tact is those little white lies that keep the gears of society greased, help stop us all punching the guy next to us in the face because he said you looked funny, or that that last time you heard such self-serving, insane troll logic was when you were dumb enough to watch senate question time. When there was still a senate at least."

"So a little exercise today. We're going to pretend you're at a party, and you have to tell a guest that his toupee looks like something died on his head. Only if you actually say that, he's probably going to try to murder you. So break it to him gentle. Work in pairs if you want."

Well, that was certain a look.

But Sidon, who felt tact was easily one of his stronger points, was rather confident that he had this one in the bag, as it were, and he hoped to approach it with as minimal lying as possible, because he didn't think he'd ever be entirely down with the idea that lying might be the best solution.

"I must say," he began, his voice as cordial and complimentary as ever, "what an absolutely striking ensemble! Why, one could hardly fail to notice it from across the entire room! I must admit, I have never quite seen a coiffure so uniquely styled before, though, I must admit," here he gave a small, self-effacing chuckle, "as you can probably assume, I am hardly well-versed in the world of hairstyles! Though I do wonder...considering the rather...imposing and bold effect you are accomplishing, effortlessly, no doubt, I can't help but postulate if if might be even more effective styled a bit differently? Or perhaps I may be so bold as to suggest that it may all be superfluously extra. Sometimes simple can make the boldest statement, wouldn't you agree? Simple and sleek, though, well..." He laughed again brushing a hand on the smoothness of the back of his own head, "I suppose I am a little biased toward a look with far less hair involved. Luckily for me, I hear it's going to be quite the upcoming style."

Here he flashed his best smile. "With you at the forefront, I'm sure everyone will be clamoring for that hairless look before you can even blink!"
