"Okay, this next one we've got a few sources on." Miguel queued up a few different sources. "It's a pretty common idea. And really tempting right around this time of year, let me tell you. So, pick a way and figure it out. Weird implants, lasers, chemicals, whatever. Shock, a really big paper bag. Just make something invisible. And remember not to try it on yourself first, okay? No matter how tempting."

Make yourself invisible! After you've made sure your method is safe. Nobody loves a mad scientist who tests things on themself first.

Or heck, walk out of class. You might get style points for that.

Norman wasn't stylish, so much. But maybe the coat he was trying to make would count? The whole idea was that the person wearing it didn't need to be invisible, since the coat would display an image of whatever was on the other side and hopefully that would do the trick.

But really, what Norman knew about stealth technology was... minimal. It was great in theory, though?

"Huh." Miguel eyed it. "Interesting. Not bad. That might actually work."

"Maybe," Norman replied, smiling wryly. "I like the theory of it, anyway."

He was a bright kid, but mad scientist, he was not.

"Definitely safer than doing it to yourself," Miguel pointed out wryly.

"Yeah," Norman agreed. "I'm not in any hurry to end up like any of the other invisible people I know."

A whole lot more than a couple, actually.

"Huh. What makes them invisible?" Miguel asked.

Norman paused a moment. Always that one moment. And then, because this was Fandom, he shrugged.

"Well, they're dead."

Miguel blinked. "Oh."

"That's...not really the kind of invisible we're going for here."

"And that's why I haven't just decided to make the class easy for myself by killing anybody," Norman said in a deadpan.

He was probably joking.

And there was Astrid, trying to be terribly practical about this whole thing, trying to use mirrors and light refraction and prisms in...some fashion to achieve what they were trying to today. Not that she actually expected it to work even in the slightest, but she remembered her mom had dated a magician once who tried to show her, smoke and mirrors, as it were, so she thought, why not? There were worse ways to spend a class than playing around with mirrors and light.

"What, no pinwheels?" Miguel was disappointed.

"I've moved past my pinwheel period," Astrid offered, her faint grin somewhere before rueful and wry, "and moved onto smoke and mirrors. Any good artist has to have room to grow and explore other facets of their talents."
